February 25, 201214 yr Pretty impressive. Even more so when keeping in mind that it will come as a free update. Way to go, REX!http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums/index.php?/topic/15775-rex-essential-new-weather-engine/page__pid__110545#entry110545Can't hurt to get that update as soon as it's released, huh?
February 25, 201214 yr Indeed, I have been anxiously awaiting this one and following the progress on their forums - heck, this is such a large update one can almost consider it a whole new program! Don B

February 25, 201214 yr FANTASTIC. I literally made a topic about full overcast cloud cover (like what you get in England a lot) the other day on the REX forums, and it looks exactly like I hoped it would, especially the top one! Can't wait!

February 25, 201214 yr I'm always wondering why people are so impressed about overcast if AS2012 could do that very well ... even ASE was very good doing that ^_^the essential shots are very impressive, but I'll wait for unedited user shots once it's released ... February 25, 201214 yr I love what the REX guys do but Im going to wait to see if that overcast will hold its depiction in a real simulated flight scenario, or if it will quickly break apart and clear up as I have seen before with other products, regardless they are quite the generous developer.
February 25, 201214 yr We're probably the only people in the world who get excited over bad weather :(. Looks great and I can't wait to pick it up!

February 25, 201214 yr Author Right he is. :smile:Hold your breath, the best overcast impression in FSX so far comes from FSRealWx in my eyes. I love that small and free program. However, the REX enhancement looks very promising and the policy of offering them for free is well worth to be supported.
February 25, 201214 yr Commercial Member Thanks for your kind words folks! As we've stated in our forum, this is truly the next incarnation of REX, officially named REX Essential, but labelled as REX3 in our version history... and yes, we are in fact giving it away for free to all of our customers.Cheers and have a great weekend!
