What's with the awkward hump on the top rear of the fuselage? Outside of that the shots look great.

Why are you using 3x zoom in on the shots? Everything is becoming blurrier yet again...Would've been really nice shots, but this way you just create blurriness.

Why sound off? Apart that, it's really good to see WN adding the -800 series to their fleet.

I don't use Inspector for AA so the textures on the aircraft look pretty when I zoom in a bit.Blurries? Oh Word Not Allowed..... Rolling%20Eyes.gif

Yeah, they are there. 1st shot and the 3rd shot with clouds (clouds are made "large" thus also less sharp). They are beautiful shots, if only you wouldn't keep the zoom so high!

Ben,Very nice pictures. I wonder why Southwest ever started coloring their planes in such wierd colours anyway? Anyone know?Kind regards,

Yep the primary color is called Canyon Blue replacing the old Desert Gold... I think all planes (minus special liveries) were completed in 2010. The livery represent the colors present in the SW sunsets/sunrise in the desert. Well at least that is what their fact sheets say!

Thank you. I always wondered about that.

"Canyon blue", as it's called, is supposed to be one of those shades of blue/purple you see at the Grand Canyon. I've driven myself (more) mad trying to get it as close to real as possible, but there's no official mix anywhere online. Odd as it may look, I still prefer it over the classic "mustard rocket" livery!Ben, looks great! After obtaining a few more photos of the plane, I've added a few more details and bumped up the shine a little more (and gave it yet another blue mix). I'll let you know when it's uploaded.

For on board TV, like in this planehttps://picasaweb.go...feat=directlinkSWA do not offer that tho.LOVE the cockpit grab
It's not TVs, it's Wifi.I've seen SWA 737's with that exact hump at KHOU and when you get on a SWA plane you can read in their magazine (whatever it's called) about how they are putting it on all their planes (the one I was on wasn't fitted yet).Pretty cool thing to add to airliners IMO. SWA is a great airline but dead boring since almost none of their planes have had entertainment onboard for long flights. The internet will change all that. The best part was I believe it was only $5 for the flight to use. Here's a pic: EDITED BY MOD

picture in subsequent post

Maybe the hump could serve dual purpose as a gun turret and satcom TV/Internet?I saw a couple of the old gold liveries last week in Tampa, FL so they did not repaint all of them. I like the "Maryland One"Does anyone know what they plan to do with the AirTran aircraft? Maybe repaint the entire inventory once the acquisition is complete?
