Interestingly, in the video he says, "Additional downloadable content will make. . ." exactly at the same time Alaska is shown. . .

One of my old friends was in Redmond a few months ago on a special project. He sent me a 'sectional for Kodiak' with a sticky note that said 'you will really, really enjoy this one day soon.' Made no sense to me at the time.Ray

a little more. The box that shows all the Alaska Sectionals has some (most) highlighted in yellow, only 4 not highlighted. I have no clue is that means anything to anyone, but it seems timely.Ray

Im thinking that even if MS releases the ENTIRE STATE of Alaska for $20, people would STILL gripe that its way too expensive, even though they just purchased a single airport for 35$....

That's why folks are hung with new rope only; that way they've got no reason to complain... :LMAO:

you kidding me, right?Alaska is big around 17% of all USA, or around 21% of USA without Alaska territory itself...But at the other side, Alaska is about 60x bigger than Hawaii, so there no way they can build whole Alaska with same amount of details like hawaii
Yeah me geography memories failed :)Anyway only very few small Alaska valleys will be done and it would be necessary a jet to link Hawai with Alaska but this is a far future, perhaps.

Hi guys, interesting find! I recognize the location as Kodiak Island - http://binged.it/xS3CY5 - and the airport is PADQ: http://www.airnav.com/airport/ADQ Cheers, Holger
I think the team snuck in an easter egg.
Nice find! I'm guessing when the dev team sees this topic a few smiles go around and someone says "that didn't take the guys long!"

It DID take a long time! Webisode was out for months before anyone posted about that short clip.

I don't intend to be argumentative Kevin but I don't think webisode 6 has been out that long. At any rate, nice find, and if the clue holds up we know what the next DLC scenery area might be!

Ken

I know people are excited about Kodiak Island but the Fjords area would be more fun. I hoping if nothing else the whole western part of the state get's attention.

The dates of release aren't listed anylonger, but I seem to recall it went up in September or October...

:o now, this, the introduction of some part of Alaska and maybe western Canada(?) would be really interesting to see. Hawaii isn't exactly a bush flyers paradise, but I'm sure if they followed through with this, there will be a considerable positive reaction from the bush guys that are on avsim...and maybe with that Dreamliner they're possibly designing, they're setting us up for a PHNL-KBFI jet service...It just slowly keeps getting better...

Somehow I don't think there will be a way between DLC areas unless they eventually join up...
During BETA, you could soom out to see the entire world. The world is still a globe. The un-covered area's are just very low resolution. The theory is you could fly between area's, but whats in the middle would be low res. For big iron at 30,000ft thats not a problem as its all just greed or blue down there anyways. For GA doing a cross country, that could be a problem as half the fun is navigating around scenery. Also if the distance is too wide between area's, GA's cant fly them since they would need to refuel at some point along the way. I dont know how MS plans to handle things, but there are ways around it.
