There's an App for That...

So, im sitting at home, sick with the flu and Pink eye (Yuck), since last Friday. Im bored to death and a little weak and queezy, so I havent been in front of my PC simming like I normally would. I got the craving to fly, and found an App called X-plane Remote, which connects the Iphone to Xplane 10 (works with 9 too) and allows the iphone to act like a yoke. Its pretty cool, I set the desktop display to full screen foward view and then get in bed ( other side of room) and the Iphone has all the guages on it as well as the controls for Flaps, gear, speed brakes etc.. Everything you need. I can tune radios and have a EFIS display all on the phone while im in bed flying. So this little app just made my bed-ridden days a little more tolerable. Here are some shots of my first Iphone landing! Not my best, but Im getting used to it.Rob1-8.jpg2-6.jpg3-4.jpg4-5.jpg5-4.jpg6-5.jpg7-4.jpg8-4.jpg9-4.jpg10-4.jpg

Except that their not really there in real life at Seattle, at least not to the extent they are in X-Plane. This is the problem I have with sloped runways in a sim. To do them accurately you would need a very high resolution mesh, that currently is not available in any sim yet. Maybe one day it will!!

Thanks

Ahhhhh, if FSX natively supported sloped runways, I'd be in heaven! Very beautiful shots! But as Bob said... need really precise mesh, to do it correctly though.

What a coincidence I have pink eye at as well. This gives me some time off to fly. I just went to the doctor today and got drops but I have not put them in because drops I have used in the past have obscured my vision. I love the sloped runways.
