March 10, 201214 yr I really enjoy the Clandestine missions, and I have a rather personal connection to them.I never knew my father when I was growing up, but I knew he was into some not so good stuff. Back in 2005 I managed to get a hold of him and flew to Hawaii (Big Island) to meet him for the first time. Had a great time getting to know him, he was in his late 60's and just trying to live the a simple life, leaving his past behind him. Then he told me this story of the last time he got in trouble - some old friends asked him to do them a "favor" and he needed some money. Old habits die hard I guess, and he was given the money to start a fishing charter business that on all fronts was legit. Every few months he was given instructions to be at such and such a port, tie up at a certain dock at such and such a time and walk away for a couple hours. When he would go back to the boat, there would be another note in an envelope full of cash with a destination and off he'd go. Never knew what he was carrying, never saw anyone. These trips took him all over the islands from the Big Island to Kuaui. Even right into Pearl Harbor under the noses of the Coast Guard. One day he was driving home from grocery shopping and spotted several dark sedans following him (not many civilian dark sedans in the islands!) and he knew the game was up. The DEA had been investigating him for over 2 years. Since he had no idea what he was transporting or who was he was working for, and he co-operated fully, he was only given 5 years. The Flight Clandestine missions seem eerily familiar to me, and I get a real kick out of them. The apple doesnt' fall far from the tree i suppose!
March 10, 201214 yr what happens when you get caught? The passenger says we've been identified & the mission ends. Personally, I'd like to know what this cargo is & how I got wrapped up in the racket. I guess I needed the money. Jason BocheDelta Virtual Airlines Assistant Chief Pilot, B767-300
March 10, 201214 yr Yes. You'll still have to have the Maule. I don't know if they show up if you don't have the Hawaii adventure pack, but I've had a few myself. I've got the full DLC.Just keep checking the magenta airfields. If nothing shows up, change the date and try again. They won't appear on blue airfields.HookJust completed my first one. What a joy. And excitement. Not so much because of law enforcement planes, did not spot one on my trip to Maui. But because I almost ran out of fuel. Started with few gallons only and landed with just 2% fuel left. Even feared I would not make it to the cargo area for parking to accomplish the mission :-). One note. If possible start at dawn. Got some whopping 10k XP on top just because it turned night 10nm before landing. Let me almost skip one level. Nice. March 10, 201214 yr So you have to have the Maule for these missions to show up randomly? "Coffee, if your not shaking, you need another cup" Flight Sim Break Discord Channel: https://discord.com/invite/fCV62Ka2QZ
March 11, 201214 yr So you have to have the Maule for these missions to show up randomly? You need a plane capable of carrying cargo. The Maule is currently the only one.
March 11, 201214 yr I ran another daytime mission today. 59nm run on the main island. No fuzz whatsoever and kept it under 1,000ft. 12,000 some odd points, no bonus for night flying (worth an additiona 1,000 I believe). Jason BocheDelta Virtual Airlines Assistant Chief Pilot, B767-300
March 11, 201214 yr Whenever I'm doing these missions... I always have this Mudcrutch song in my head..."I'm a bootleg flyer... And I work aloneI'm a radar hider... Turn your head... And I'm goneGonna set her down easy on a dirt roadI'm gonna land her on sandMoonshine on the Redwood ForestWith money across my handI'm a bootleg flyer Oh, oh, ohI'm a bootleg flyer cargo in the backI'm a tree-top glider I never leave the trackThrown over napalm... I've flown under fire... and I go rain or sunIn a world where no one knows me... I'm a motherless sonI'm a bootleg flyer... and I work aloneI got wings for hire... drive my load and I'm goneI'm a bootleg flyer and I work aloneI'm a tree-top glider drive my load and I'm gone"; )
March 11, 201214 yr Just found my first one, a short 32nm hop. And just to make it more exciting (I only saw one police plane, and avoided it right after takeoff) I kept it below 300 ft, skimming treetops, dipping into valleys etc. THat was loads of fun, and now I have a cool paintjob for my RV too. I just wish there were more paintjobs for the Maule as well.
March 12, 201214 yr I have yet to see one of these. Is it a mission or a job? Do they show up to be selected in the jobs area of the of the airport page? Love Airplanes and American Muscle Cars
March 12, 201214 yr I have yet to see one of these. Is it a mission or a job? Do they show up to be selected in the jobs area of the of the airport page? They're jobs... and they apparently only show up at the magenta colored airports... just click through all of them and you'll come across one... maybe not immediately, but eventually...
March 12, 201214 yr Also take off at dusk (keep the lights off), beautiful lighting, plus it adds to the nefariousness of the activity. Nothing like skimming wavetops within sight of the lights of Honolulu and Pearl hoping you don't see any other aircraft. There is also an approximately 10,000 xp bonus for night missions.
March 12, 201214 yr What freight do you guys think are you carrying when you do such a mission? Maybe drugs?Worse.JELLYBABIES
March 19, 201214 yr Got busted twice. Landed one night at PHOG (Maui) picked up some fuel, took off.......no problem!Awards:Derring-doCargo Transported 10 TonsGlobe TrotterAerobatic Pilot
March 26, 201214 yr  what airports did you usually find the jobs in? Every time I find one(only at Ford Island), I miraculously need to leave and I lose the job. Can't find it for a few days afterward and the same thing happens.
