You will only find clandestine jobs at fields without control towers.

what happens when you get caught?
No bright spot light or gunfire, just an end of mission screen (as if you crashed) and a sense of failure. I think there could also be a 'punishment' of negative XP points awarded. A fine, if you like. Might make you think twice about breaking the law ;)
 what airports did you usually find the jobs in? Every time I find one(only at Ford Island), I miraculously need to leave and I lose the job. Can't find it for a few days afterward and the same thing happens.
Check all the magenta airports on the maps. There won't be any clandestine cargo jobs at the blue airports. I usually find 2 or 3 by checking every airport. Oh, and zoom in so the smallest airstrips are shown. If you don't find a good one, change the game's date in the Flight Conditions menu and the jobs will be reset. Conversely, if you find a good job, then change the time, the job may no longer be there.Hook

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

Thanks. I finally found a job and unlocked the police paint for the rv6a

Yesterday I've got Clandestine Mission (at last). Soon after I got to 19 lvl. Before I just couldn't find it anywhere. It was really fun. Specially at the end. Low fuel and short and narrow strip. Trees all around. I had to circle 3 times around to decide from where is best to land. I've got almost 18.000 xp (at daylight). What I've been missing is possibility to look at map so that I could decide where to fly before you take off. And we should have map while in route.

Hi Mirtma.

Love them, low and fast, 100% concentration all the time. One nice thing about them, no map, you are on your own.

Maps for printing you can find in this forum, very handy.

Tell you a secret, and keep it. Never, ever get above 100 ft over land or sealevel.

Works perfectly in daytime, made 3 in a row, different days and nice xp´s!!!

(don´t tell the others, right?)

I ran into Law Enforcement the other day that I just couldn't shake. No matter which course I turned to (even 180 dgrees opposite direction), Law Enforcement always seemd to be above me and closing in. Usually this isn't a problem for me but I'd love to know the key to getting away in this situation. Since we have no radar or radio comms, a little more information from the Law Enforcement indicator would be helpful, particularly the heading.

Jasonboche,

Hi, and asking:

Did you before the nasty guys showed up heard any comment from your "co-pilot" like "Hey, we supposed to fly below 1000 ft"

or something else? I found out, low enough, no comments from the c/p, did work. Think thats the trick. Maybe I was lucky?

To answer your question, I remember someone writing that the trick was to asap turn away in the opposit direction. Must be hard to judge in a second, maybe it works....

By the way, all 3 was in daytime.

On that particular mission, I don't recall. What I can tell you is that I've done a lot of Clandestine missions and I'm usually pretty good at staying below 1000 feet because I know that's a solid rule. Sometimes I've strayed slightly above it. Sometimes my copilot says something about it, sometimes he/she does not. I've even had my copilot sqwak about us being above 1000 feet when we are clearly not.

All of that said, I haven't developed any correlation between breaking the 1000 foot or no lights rule and running into Law Enforcement. I can also say that the copilot has rasied concern about the 1000 foot rule, we may or may not run into law envforcement, and the mission has been successful. That said, the copilot raising concern about the 1000 foot rule doesn't always spell terminal failure. Rather the opposite. I've only been busted by the fuzz twice and I've heard the copilot mention the 1000 foot rule several times in the past.

I'm in the same situation as you jasonbache.

My co pilot says I'm over 1000ft a lot when I'm about 50-70 ft above trees.

This happens a lot when the ground terrain has huge chasms or elevation changes.

Here's my new guy question, Is altidude determined by sea level as the base [0] and if so when climbing up a mountain

of course you will be over a thousnd ft even though you may be only a few ft above the trees?

This is what seems to trigger my co-pilot to remark about the 1000ft exceed. At least in my case.

I have done several successful clandistine mission but I've got to figure out if the terrain or being above the actual tree height determines the 1000ft violation.

ps since the update I've lost 17 awards and can't retain aerocaches of the day after a restart----very frustrating sorry for venting

i7-920@3360, Asus P6T Deluxe, 6gb Corsair 1600 ram,

MSI GTX460, PC Power+Cooling 610wt psu, etc.

I've never even SEEN or HEARD the law enforcement... I just keep the destination marker off to the left or right of the end of the HUD crosshairs, and stay at about 500 ft above whatever is below me, be it ground or water... until the co-pilot tells me we're close enough to begin a normal landing approach.

Maybe I've just been extremely lucky... but it's worked out so far.

I just fly way out over open water and make an arc to get to the destination.

Oh, for those of you who hate the 5-0 planes, beware of doing multiplayer with me cause it is by far my favorite plane and scheme.
