March 5, 201214 yr Hello my fellow flight simmers,With the announcment of an Alaskan expansion pack, Flight is looking ever more as a full world simulator, and I have renewed interest in it...But the only reason Flight is sitting idle on my hard drive is because I have a slight issue with my Saitek Pro Flight Yoke...when I push the Hat Switch left, the actual in-game camera goes right, and vice-versa...Any Help?

March 5, 201214 yr Pretty sure this is not a hardware problem, hopefully MS sees it and fixes it -Raymond W PC Specs: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X - ASUS B550M-K - 32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200Mhz - MSI 3070 TI Gaming X Trio
March 5, 201214 yr I have a slight issue with my Saitek Pro Flight Yoke...when I push the Hat Switch left, the actual in-game camera goes right, and vice-versa...Any Help?That is strange.. on my CH Yoke, the hat switch works correctly.. never did anything to set it either. Bert
March 6, 201214 yr Moderator There is a very long and tedious technical explanation for why the hat switch is inverted, but it all stems from a requirement of compatibility with the existing X-Box LIVE programming API which demands that the x/y axes be inverted.As a short-term interim fix, I simply edited the default Cameras.cfg file to negate the pan rate, which reverses the hat switches rotation. March 6, 201214 yr Something to keep in mind when people are talking about the hat swtich. Inside the cockpit, it works the way you'd expect. In external view, the pan is reversed from the way it was in FSX. If you use the options switch to reverse it, it reverses both inside and outside.Bill, I'll have to check out the cameras.xml file. Thanks for the tip.Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
March 6, 201214 yr Moderator Bill, I'll have to check out the cameras.xml file. Thanks for the tip.Larry, while I was at it, I added CycleHidden=Yes to the Title=$Spot camera, and enabled the $Free Look camera, as it is a "fixed spot view" without the smooth transitions...Here are the last few lines of the $Free Look config:ClipMode = SpotPitchPanRate=30HeadingPanRate=-75PanAcceleratorTime=0HotKeySelect=4UseSimVelocity = TRUECycleHidden=No Fr. Negating the HeadingPanRate does not work for me!2.) For me, it was the DEFAULT that $Spot has CycleHidden=Yes, while $Free Look is the active camera.

March 11, 201214 yr LOL glad I'm not alone with this problem....Just to let youse know, i have a saitek proflight and the hatswitch works correctly. March 11, 201214 yr Hmmm..I have installed an XBOX controller - not for flight sims, and it's not even connected right now, but thinking what Fr Bill says above..If you have the reverse problem, which i do, could this be it? Why do some people not have it if it's hard-coded?????bestjake JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte
