March 13, 201214 yr So, is anyone able to confirm whether the A/P works on the current Stage II model, and also any other systems, such as overhead panel etc....?To find out, do I have to go and buy this one too, like I did the JF 737 lol! :(Actually no need to buy the version 0.4 (am I stupid?! :Thinking:There's a free way to find out if the 0.4 is good enough for you. In this forum people provide real-time technical feedback on the 0.4: http://www.captainsi...?board=737step2Very informative.Frankly, the 0.4 appears to be better than I thought. http://www.captainsim.com

March 13, 201214 yr Commercial Member Al, we didn't do the low quality version specifically for people running lots of addons, it was more for guys with > 1GB video cards and other old components that were having trouble with the high quality stuff because of the sheer size of the textures. Those people still wanted to be able to fly it so that was our attempt at a solution for them. I personally see no difference in framerate myself between the low and the high ones - if you have a recent system it doesn't matter. The low quality VC still has more polys than basically anything else out there, it lowers the texture size/resolution mainly. March 13, 201214 yr True, but lower resolution textures mean less stuff loading into the GPU's RAM, less pixels moving around on the screen, less calculations for dithering and filtering, so also less power use and less heat too amongst other things, which puts less strain on the computer, and as everyone who uses FSX knows, especially all those people who spend countless hours tweaking it, anything which puts less strain on the computer can only help where FSX is concerned.I've got an I7 2600, which runs FSX okay, including with the PMDG NGX (which is the best 737 by the way, so good job), but I still like things which help it!Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
March 13, 201214 yr To those using the Stage II beta (with VC):-Is the AP and other basic systems required to fly (eg, NAV radios, the overhead, etc) working?I appreciate there will be no sounds apart from basic engine, flaps, etc, due to the current aliasing with the default FSX 738.Thanks.It can track VORs and the attitude hold is working as expected (as well as altitude hold). I didn't manage to make it track a HDG yet, i don't know if it's not working or if it's just me and Sperry77 incompatibilities :LMAO:The upcoming version 0.5 should fix most of these issues, but the best thing to do as already advised is to check the CS forums for more info. The A/C is stunning, if the systems live up to the quality of the model and texturing, we'll easily have one of the best sims to ever grace FSX. March 13, 201214 yr The problem is if you bought the 100 alone you would have paid 29.98 (9.99 (737-100) + 19.99 (Base pack with discount)) and you end up with both the 100 and 200. Now if you bought the 200 expansion at the time. you would end up paying 39.97 (9.99 (737-100 - required puchase) + 9.99 (737-200) + 19.99 (Base Pack with discount)) and still end up with the 100 and 200. So you're being penalized for buying the 200 external model early, that is replaced with the one in the base pack, and no longer needed.I noticed that CS commented on everything but this... All we did is just switched the -100 and -200 models in the base pack, following the numerous requests. The full set (100+200 whatever base pack model you got) is 39.97 anyways. So no one is being penalized.BTW, those who buy the STEPII release save 10 Euros on the 1.0 release. http://www.captainsim.com
March 13, 201214 yr BTW, those who buy the STEPII release save 10 Euros on the 1.0 release.10 Euros? Wow. :( Now I'm pi$$ed off. That is definitely not the tune you guys were singing two days ago when I bought it.It's looking like this means the "early purchasers" are ending up paying more than those who are waiting for the 1.0 release. Is this assumption correct? ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
March 13, 201214 yr 10 Euros? Wow. :( Now I'm pi$$ed off. That is definitely not the tune you guys were singing two days ago when I bought it.Sorry, I don't understand. You don't want the 10 Euros off, do you?And what was the "tune we were singing two days ago" please? http://www.captainsim.com
March 13, 201214 yr Sorry, I don't understand. You don't want the 10 Euros off, do you?And what was the "tune we were singing two days ago" please? The "Buy now and get 10E off" sign wasn't there when I purchased two days ago...I assumed I'd be getting more credit towards the 1.0 release than a measly $13. Assuming the 1.0 release is $45-$50 (I paid $40 for this "Beta" [which is actually more of an Alpha]) and then subtract $13. That's $32. $32 (with discount)+$40 (what I paid for this "stage II")=$72...So I'll have spent $72 bucks for supporting Captain Sim early in the life of this add on (assuming the 1.0 release is only $45). Am I crazy for being miffed, people? Or is this how we do business now? ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
March 13, 201214 yr The final 1.0 will be 40 Euros. You can now buy the 0.4 version for 30. When it matures to 1.0, this will be your final price. So that's 10 Euros off the price for the folks waiting for 1.0.

March 13, 201214 yr The "Buy now and get 10E off" sign wasn't there when I purchased two days ago...Yes. Now it's there. So?I assumed I'd be getting more credit towards the 1.0 release than a measly $13.I don't know were you assumption comes from, but pricing model is clearly announced upfront:http://www.captainsim.com/support/cip.htmlAs you may notice there are no any discounts on the 1.0 for the STEPII buyers.BUT we do promise the 10E discount as a sign of appreciation for the STEPII buyers. The final 1.0 will be 40 Euros. You can now buy the 0.4 version for 30. When it matures to 1.0, this will be your final price. So that's 10 Euros off the price for the folks waiting for 1.0.Exactly.Thank you. http://www.captainsim.com
March 13, 201214 yr Zach, you spoke about some 72 Dollars on the overall price, which is wrong. As said, the overall one for 1.0 will be 40 Euros (~52.32 USD). The overall one for the folks who have bought the 'Experimental' now will be 30 Euros (39.24 USD) due to the discount CS gives them.Prices for the 1.0 final.Guys who wait for 1.0 and then buy: 40 Euros (~52.32 USD)Guys who've bought the 'Experimental': 30 Euros (39.24 USD)I wouldn't render the maths more complicated than they are. :(
March 13, 201214 yr It's looking like this means the "early purchasers" are ending up paying more than those who are waiting for the 1.0 release. Is this assumption correct? No, it's not.The STEP II release purchasers SAVE 10 Euros. http://www.captainsim.com
