Your loss! I'm perfectly happy with those planes. The 707, and 727 are probably the best classic models available. Yes the 757/767 took a few patches, but CS did come through, and they are on par with most current airliner addons, except PMDG and Level-D (for systems), but then no other airliner developer is either!!
The best classic model available is by far the SimCheck A300 or Leonardo Maddog 2010. Systems modeling. Real documentation. Great sounds. Decent model and good VC. There are other developers out there, you're just not looking hard enough. The CS727 is all wrong. The CS707 is one of my favorites but it is by no means the strongest classic model in my hangar. Systems are cheesy and trim is so sensitive it's hard to trim for any phase of flight.Checking out the forums over at CS, it would seem the customers there that participate are more interested in aesthetics anyway. Hopefully we'll be changing that for the 737. So I challenge Stage II users here to join the Captain Sim forums and give good input.

If that's true, that actually worse! If you bought the 100 (9.99) and 200 (9.99) + basepack and discount 19.99 = 39.97, then the installation disables the 100?, now you you've paid 9.99 more and lose the 100 that you already bought. If you want it again you have to re purchase it for another 9.99 for a total of 49.96. That can't be right?
I don't think this is the case, I think that if you already have the 100 and 200, the base pack will simply override the 200, and you still have the 100 and 200 for 39.98
Most of this whole mess could have been avoided if the discount was on the 200 not the 100.Those that only bought the 100 only pays 9.99 and 29.99 for a total of 39.98. ends up with 100 and 200 model.
I don't think the people that bought just the 100 end up with both if they bought the 200 base, I believe that the 200 base replaces the 100 so you only end up with the 200. Think of the exterior 100 as a coupon, once you use it, it is gone. This would be mean you only have the 200 and you paid 29.99
Those that bought the 100 & 200 pays 19.98 for both and 19.99 (discounted for the 200) for a total of 39.97. also ends up with 100 and 200 models
Correct.
New purchasers of the Base pack pays 29.99 ends up with the 200 model only.New purchasers of the Base Pack pays 29.99 and 100 expansion pays 9.99 for a total of 39.98. ends up with 100 and 200.
Correct.
In all cases those that ended up with both models ultimately pays 39.98 (Give or take a penny.) and the new purchasers that only want the 200 pays 29.99.
If I am not mistaken, I think that is how it is now, but the way Captain Sim went about explaining it was not very clear at all. His English is understandable actually quite good, but I think his order of words is what's tripping people up.
You still have the issue of the original buyers that only bought the 100 because they had to to get the 200. I really don't see away around that other than to have another purchase option that would add another 9.99 discount, but on installation disables the 100 which would give you a total of 29.99, the same as if you just bought the base pack alone.
This was just bad business on Captain Sim's part. Instead of making all of this mess with swapping models and discounts they should have just credited everyone for everything that had been purchased up to the point they made the switch, clean the slate so to speak. Then you just start fresh with a base pack priced at 29.99 for one model or 39.99 for both.

Completely agree. The majority of CS fans over at their forums seem to primarily be concerned with the visual aspect simulations, and they gloss over and appear to ignore the flight dynamics, systems, bugs, and lack of SDK's of all the Captain Sim aircraft. I know it is opinion, but I can't help but be amused when some of the CS fans state that CS develops the most realistic airliners for FSX. Anyway, I don't want to bash Captain Sim as I do respect the visual quality of their products, and I would love to see them improve the authenticity of the flight dynamics and systems simulation with their future products. I will be keeping an eye on the 737-200 development, and if it comes out with reasonably accurate flight dynamics, authentic systems, and realistic engine parameters, I will buy it.

I'd say every vendor has its fans and they all claim their fav plane is the best thing after sliced bread no matter how good/modest/poor they are (see abacus, ifly and all ).

Yes, but that does not negate the fact that some claims are more logically sound and rational than others.

It really depends. If you ask them fans their claims are all logical and sound.

Yes I agree even if I'm not sure if they are always aware they are incorrect. For some of them their fav product works better because of their system (no system is the same). Others claim for example their ifly 737 is better than the pmdg 737ngx (even if their pc has nothing to do with it).Now I have no idea if they say so because of ignorance, stupidity, brainwashing or substance abuse but they do make those claims. To each his own anyway :)
Both of these people have the EXACT same thing (737 Base pack + 100 and 200), except one paid 9.99 more than the other, why?
Because your calculations are wrong. Sorry but this is my last word on the "100-200 pricing thing": there's no way to get the two (100+200) models for less than 39.97.For people who are tollally lost in these "100-200 calculations": It's SIMPLE as AB:A: If this is going to be your first 737 Captain purchase just buy whatever you like in the store: http://www.captainsim.com/store/B: If you've purchased anything from 737 Captain before, please read this: http://www.captainsi...7/discount.htmlYou could be eligible for a discount.

I kinda came to that conclusion further down once I realized what you were saying....So what about the people who do not want the 100 but already bought it because prior to the switch they had too?

I agree completely. I am perfectly happy with all of my Captain Sim aircraft, especially the 727 and 707 (still haven't had time to try the 737). No one (except PMDG) even comes close to the texture detail within the virtual cockpit and cabin of Captain Sim's aircraft and they all fly well for me too. Although they don't have the depth of systems of the NGX, they still are quite complex. I don't see anything default with them.Of course everyone has a right to their opinion, but there is a lot of people that love Captain Sim aircraft, me being one.

From past experienceI try and research all products before I buy(as my budget is limited), and the support or lack thereof in my opinion weigh far more than anything else.I have unfortunately had bad customer service and have learned that no product is perfect when it comes out. However the willingness of the developer to accept that fact andmake concessions and adjustments to paying customersis paramount IMHO.I would hope that for those like me prone to get frenzy to feed our sim addictions we take a moment to pauseand review evidence before parting with hard earned cashie head over heart Peace to allJay

Shouldn't have bought it, Todd. What you purchased was a -100 model. We can't push it too far.

Thought I was reading a Haiku or something similar for a second there.

Oh I know, and I regret it to the fullest. But, when the dust settles it is my own fault, I allowed them to take advantage of me. While I don't blame them for running their business how they see fit, I also don't have to agree with it. This could have been handled much better, and I hope they see that for future reference.
