March 15, 201214 yr Already bought one from Just Flight made by Blackbox simulations, getting fatal error when loading the plane and redownload & install did not help...This one will stay as other option for me in case that they cant find the problem.Same thing was happening to me. Set the default flight with the FSX glider thingy and click "Fly", then load the JustFlight 737-200 from inside the sim after the glider is fully loaded.I know that this is an outdated way of loading an aircraft, but I figure that Black Box used to be PSS, and they have been out of circulation for a long time, so they still kind of do things the old way. March 15, 201214 yr Would have probably bought CS one if I had noticed that it has been released already, but anyway at least for now I am happy with Black Box one, not as much eye candy as Captain Sim one of course, but still enough to fill my demands. Not sure about how complex system simulation it is, tomorrow I will really have time to test it.You really need to have them both right now, so you can feast your eyes on the ultimate beauty of Captain Sim's cockpit, but have the great pleasure of flying the accurate and stable flight system in the JustFlight version.I tried Captain Sim's 737 last night and I can see that there are quite a lot of things that need corrected.First thing that you need to do is to load TurboSound Studios' MD8X JT8D FSX Sound package, so you have realistic engine sounds and not the default 757 sound. Most of the flying with the Captain Sim version will be manual, since the auto pilot doesn't work real well yet, from what I can see.The Black Box 737-200 has a PERFECT auto pilot and Performance Data Computer System (PDCS) with about 90% functionality with an outstanding manual with a tutorial that is practically worth the price of the whole package.A few months from now, when Captain Sim gets all of the ragged edges and bugs worked out, (and JustFlight will probably be selling his too), I'm sure he will have some excellent manuals. The JF autopilot (and the rest of the aircraft) is far from perfect. The autopilot is but a simple Sperry 77 (there's not much going on there) and the PDCS isn't a huge deal. It just calculates EPR according to temperature. As I stated before, all of this PLUS a Sperry 177 A/P option are available in the form of the Tin Mouse II, which is freeware. Considering the Just Flights inevitable CTDs in the VC for most, I'd say avoid frustration until patched (obviously this is directed at VC users). The Captain Sim Stage II in it's current state isn't anything worth purchasing. Most buttons don't even work. As for the autopilot: It's not that it simply "doesn't work real well." It's not simulated yet. As in it WON'T WORK. The CS Stage II is better looked at as a pre-order purchase. I wouldn't bother downloading it if you're into any sort of realistic simulation.I know I sound harsh, but most of the regulars in here know the other regular's standards. Mine are higher than yours, that's for sure. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

March 16, 201214 yr I really feel you're way off.+1The JF needs a lot of tunning before being perfect. Some of my findings are somewere in this topic previous pages ... March 16, 201214 yr But if that is what the aircraft came with, then it is right on target, don't you think?Having a rock steady pitch hold doesn't do it for me. Sorry Robert! Before I get the inevitable "program one yourself then" comment, let me say that I'm no programmer. The Sperry 77 isn't exactly a complicated system, though. Saying they modeled the Sperry 77 well and ignoring the GLARING issues with the product is like saying a crummy car has nice cup holders.I'll back off before I really cross a line. I hate to belittle an effort by a development team. This one I regret purchasing, though. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

Many of us will thank you for saving the bucks in their pockets until something worthy to buy emerges.Well, we all know each other's level of expectations in here (like I mentioned earlier)! For that reason, I'm trying not to bark too loud. That and I feel guilty downing developers. I would hate to discourage them from keeping the add-ons coming, but hopefully it just sets a bar higher. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
March 16, 201214 yr Although I am one of those who would certainly like to see an attempt at a Sperry 177 for the JF 737-200, it's worth noting that the later models of the preceding Sperry 77 (i.e. the ones with a pitch control)) were actually fairly capable autopilots in that they could integrate with a lot of different Flight Directors, and apparently you could capture a glideslope from above with the MAN GS setting, which is a novel concept, so there is fun to be had with the thing, and I've found that it is a reasonably decent simulation of the real thing's capabilities in most respects.Nevertheless, I notice some people are having issues with the VC, but I am not seeing those issues myself, and whilst I know it is a bummer and not much help to people who are having issues when I say that, but that's the way it is on my PC, so I'm having a lot of fun with the JF 737, i.e. I flew it from EGCC to LEAM with no bother at all and it behaved itself admirably. Thus I hope a patch will address things for those who are not quite so fortunate to be experiencing the trouble-free flights I have had with it so far.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

I don't know if this helps, but I run FSX on my main sim machine which has WinVista64, it is fine. When I put it on my laptop which runs Win7, I get those crashing problems unless I load a default plane first. Todd Fleck

After about 20 minutes of flying, wham! Eitherway, I'm going to try the aircraft one last time tonight. Hopefully I can get over the ugly VC and get a complete flight in without a CTD. I really want to like it guys, but I'm missing my polished add-ons. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
