I get a minimum of 25 fps, most of the time I get around 35-40 at big add-on airports (aerosoft), at default airport scenery I get around 45-60 fps. Is it 100% smooth? No, even at very high fps there is very tiny bit of microstuttering (I repeat, very tiny), everyone is seeing this. I have this only in the NGX. With my 1600/CL9 I had much more microstuttering than with 1600/CL6. Recently, I found that if you limit to 60 fps, that you get very great result. Because 60 fps is the refresh rate of the monitor, so if the game maintains that, you'll be looking at an extremely smooth ride.I have sliders almost max. I have light bloom and aircraft shadows disabled. I have mesh complixity on 80, water on HIGH 2X, the rest of the scenery and autogen is on max, ground shadows are off. Clould draw distance is on 60 NM, cloud coverage on maximum, no AI traffic cuz I fly on IVAO mainly. I have LOD on 4.5, because increasing to 6 or more gives me microstuttering.@Daniel, you should be able to get much more fps than that. Try this in your FSX.cfgIf the bufferpools section isn't there yet, on top, add:[bUFFERPOOLS]PoolSize=0This is the holy grail of FSX performance. However, if you have a CPU that overpowers your GPU a lot you might get some CTD's, This is waht I had with my GTX 320, my i5 2500 @ 4.5GHz massively overpowered my CPU.

Wow amazing. With the sliders on 3/4, Rex textures (none HD) and ASE, Nothing more the 15fps on EHAM (aerosoft) .I did use Bojoto's tweaks.Any suggestions ?
Yes your pc is simply way too slow. 2.8 GHz is quite weak, get a Sandy Bridge platform and overclock it. With my old i7 860 2.8 GHz I got around 12-15 fps also at Aerosoft EHAM, but now, with my new system I get around 30-40 with UTX, GEX and REX weather. Sliders to max.

Joost, did you "tune" W7 in any way. For instance the way NickN suggest to do in this posting http://www.simforums...187.html#198187 ?Regards,Don
Thx Don, Will give those a try.

A new platform is not a option right now. Is it worth overclocking my current processor ? With extra cooling.

Definately. Get the Scythe Mugen 3, great and cheap cooler, only runs around 5C hotter than Corsair H100. With this cooling you'll be able to overclock to around 3.8 - 4.0 GHz. The statement that overclocking can damage your hardware is not true, UNLESS you're voltage and temps are ok. Never go beyond 1.45V and around 80C. For a long term overclock keep the voltage on 1.4V or below. Just put the voltage on 1.4V in the BIOS, put the base clock on 200, multiplier 20x, DRAM multiplier on around 8x, so that baseclock (200 in this case) x DRAM multiplier equals the specified MHz of your RAM. If it runs stable, you can try increasing the base clock even more until you get BSOD. If you do so, make sure that you don't overclock more then 1.4 volts can run. Run Prime95, if you have ran it for 12 hours with no errors, this means you overclock is very stable. BSOD's are nothing to worry about when overclocking. it's perfectly normal when you're experimenting with voltages and simply means that your CPU does not have enough power (volt) to maintain the overclock and shuts itself off.

i have a i7 920 clocket to 4 ghzgtx 580raptor 300 gb 10000 rpm.i get all between 6 and 50 fps.depends on many things but it dosent matter what you get if you just get over 15 fps.15 or more is good enogh to fsxby the way i thínk the new ivy i7 3770k is going to rock fsx, you will surely be abel to hit 5 ghz on that cpu

All sliders to the right, NGX high res, AS2012 with cloud coverage 12 tweak, uk2000 egkk, rcv4, Aerosoft/fsdt airports, unlimited fps in fsx and locked @30 through inspector i get steady fps on the ground of 22-28 and 30 in the air.Specs in sig.Cheers

15 fps is definately not enough for me. Even 20 fps it a little choppy in my opinion. I want at least 25 fps (which I'm getting in 95% of the occasions), I'm satisfied at 30 fps+, I'm extremely happy at 60 fps. :)

I'm not an expert, but I think you should get better than 5fps with this system...not to criticize, but I'm looking for a new pc, so everytime I have the occasion to discuss about hardware and fsx I'm glad to do

Thanks Arjen, Gonna shop for a cooler one of these days.Joost

Looks like I do something wrong if I do read all the posts about great performance. Inflight with the NGX my FPS does varry between 33-45 FPS and it´s super smooth but on approaches and down on the ground the FPS can get down to the very low 10´s (10-15 and some microshutters) but that is only when I do approach an big airport like O´Hare and Phoenix with about 65% Air traffic (200+WOAI packages). But when I do read what the others get I´m a bit depressed cause I do think my system is decent enough.

Best regards, Steffen

This is a great airport and i am having 20-27fps with UT2traffic at 30%,ENB (eats up to 5fps on my system on ground),Very Dense scenery, in normal cloudy weather from Active Sky.TML=2048 but no ground vehicle. 1900x1200I7@950 4,2HD5870 ATI 1GBRaptor 300GB FSXSSD 128GB w7646GB 1600 dominator

Before you get too depressed, have you asked how this is achieved? When you find out, please let me know. Regards from a guy with pretty decent specs too.
