March 19, 201214 yr agreed with Ryan there..Nobody runs at the same resolution even! I can literally gain about 30FPS by running at a slightly lower res (despite the accepted norm being that it runs "best" at native rez)I forgot to add, I run at 1920x1200 across a 27" and 24" (square) screens...bestjake JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte

March 19, 201214 yr This thread is completely subjective.yeah, it IS subjactive when you get FPS above 25/35 in my opinion...for guys like me that FIGHT against their system to get 20 FPS and 15 FPS during approach is campletely different. for that reason I WOULD have a system that let me not to worry about performance Giorgio Nicola www.flyafa.com
March 19, 201214 yr Hi.My frame rates are 10-21, very rarely 30, average around 17fps. How can I improve it? I use nvidia inspector and settings as posted in one pf the topics here.Thanks.Did you optimize your fsx.cfg?

March 19, 201214 yr Did you optimize your fsx.cfg?No. I have no idea how to do that. Unfortunately I have lack of knowledge to mess with files. March 19, 201214 yr No. I have no idea how to do that. Unfortunately I have lack of knowledge to mess with files. If someone help me with that it would be great.Thank you.I can send you mine if you want, although you would have to change a few settings or you might CTD (that's what people say, i've used fsx.cfgs from other people before and never caused me trouble), also some settings depend on your GPU and CPU.You can use this webpage to optimize your .cfg, but i recommend researching on google aswell cause you can find a lot of stuff to optimize and how to.
March 20, 201214 yr I have heard so many arguments for and against so many different FSX config. settings, that i think it is what works for you on your particular PC with your particular addons. I have tweaked and untweaked so many cofig. settings, i lost count. However, each time i tweaked, i saved the previous cofig., so in the end i just repeated a short taxi/circuit/land/taxi at my Flightbeam KSFO and kept the config. with the best all around FPS/Smoothness and dumped the rest. Now i get very acceptable FPS with the occasional micro stutter. Anybody who says they are getting huge FPS and zero stutters with all sliders maxed and every add on scenery under the sun etc, etc. I'm happy for you. Rick Hobbs

I have used that website and after swapping original cfg. file to tweaked one and now I am getting FPS about 25-30. But it was recommended to turn off anti aliasing and it gave me rough edges. So I turned it back on. I don't know what else I can do. March 20, 201214 yr To all of those who say that your sliders are all maxed, do you literally mean everything is maxed, including ai traffic? I ask because if I try to max every single setting in FSX, my frames can dip into the low teens with Rex and at fsdreamteam kfll, for example. Furthermore, I recently had to reduce my sliders (ai mainly which I had at 100%) because running the Ngx and Rex along with super high settings gives me oom's. The decrease in visual quality is barely noticeable, but I still pose the question, do those that say that they're settings are full right literally mean every single slider?Furthermore, are the oom's just a fact of my machine I have to deal with, or do others also experience oom's with Rex+Ngx+payware airports, and almost maxed settings (including 100% ai airline and ga traffic)? March 20, 201214 yr Nvidia GT560Ti + nVidia Inspector configured per Ryan's tutorial for 8xS, locked at 60fps.FSX.cfg with *******' tweaks, but using Poolsize=0External Views = steady 60, always.VC => 25-60, depending on the scenery and weather.FSX sliders = scenery, weather, aircraft maxed. Traffic for airplanes 0% (I only fly online) and boats and such, 50%. Jefferson Santos
March 20, 201214 yr how do u check the fpsNot stupid, Dano..It's not obvious..Keep hitting Shift-Z until you see FPS (you can have a combo of text info, and if you are happy editing cfg files you can customise what you see)bestjake JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte
