April 22, 201214 yr Steve, I would like to say first, that I also appreciate your level of skill relating to this Interface issue of Goflight and PMDG on the NGX problem. I have been following eagerly the discussion here and on the Goflight forum. I am currently "on the fence" about purchasing the MCP-Pro and EFIS. However I am confused about the voltage issue of the USB hub working or not? I have a powered 2.0 Hub. But can obtain whatever works. New models of the MCP Pro I see are A25 firmware, should not be a problem but your Feb. 20 posting in the GF forum mentions lockups with older versions of the firmware. And of course I realize the interface is a Beta version, proceed at my own risk. Thank you in advance for your time. April 22, 201214 yr Author In fact, it's only the range and mode knob which is the problem + The interface program crashes upon exit... Patrick, I had one person in the Alpha testing with the same problem. It turned out that he had conflicting assignments on his EFIS. I believe it was my LUA script that was the problem as it wasn't disabled properly. You must make sure that you have nothing assigned to the EFIS for the NGX in FSUIPC, LINDA, GFConfig and GFKeys and any other utility you may have. The program crash may be related to the above issue discussed with the P8's. Let me know how you get on. Thx Steve Stephen Munn

Hi Pat, To my knowledge GoFlight have never really discussed this issue, but have always been insistent on a good powered USB hub because the MCP PRO uses all the 500ma available on the port. My own opinion from having to write code for the device and reading peoples posts, is that there is an issue in the firmware below version A25 where simultanous reading and writing from the dials to the displays can cause a temporary or total freeze of the MCP PRO. Now whether that issue is because of power draw or a buffering issue, I have no idea. I have A22 firmware and I used to get it locking up all the time when flying the Level D 767. All I can say is that I added two features to my interface that added very small delays in the reading and writing from/to the MCP PRO so that the total amount of activity per second could be throttled back. When I added this functionality, it fixed the lockups for people who were experiencing it. A25 firmware users were never effected by the problem and could have the functionality disabled (set both sliders to zero). There doesn't appear to be any serious problems with people using the EFIS and the MCP PRO with my driver as you can see from this thread. I have written the interface so that is can be easily extended to support the upcoming PMDG Boeing releases as well (assuming SDK's are issued). Best wishes Steve Stephen Munn
April 22, 201214 yr I haven't used your LUA script at all, but i'll check FSUIPC and Goflight later :-) Thanks for your reply. Patrick - Denmark i7 10900k - GTX1060 (To be upgraded to RTX3080-ti) - 32 GB of RAM - Nvme SSD - 100 mbps internet
April 22, 201214 yr Can't find anything wrong in FSUIPC nor Goflight Patrick - Denmark i7 10900k - GTX1060 (To be upgraded to RTX3080-ti) - 32 GB of RAM - Nvme SSD - 100 mbps internet
April 22, 201214 yr Hello Steve Congratulations !!! My MPC Goflight PRO works very well. No problem !!!
April 22, 201214 yr I've been working though a few issues that I was having. The EFIS would work fine but the buttons, switches and the knobs on the MPC Pro would not work. If the sim was changed the MCP would update on the numbers and lights but no input from the mpc was making it to the sim. Found out that this was caused by the MCP being plugged into a non powered usb hub. Once plugged directly into a pc usb slot it work fine. Justin Paull
April 22, 201214 yr Steve, Thanks for taking the time to reply. I will move on with my purchase. Have to love the community here for all the help going around. Hopefully, my learning curve won't be challenged much. lol But I am looking forward to more realisim with the sim. BTW I noticed Coventry Airport has re-opened. We are constantly losing airports here in the States. Although Naval Airstation Brunswick, Maine has re-opened as a public use airport- KBXM, after closing for a year. No need to reply Steve as I can see this is off topic and you're extremely in demand. Pat Snyder KBDR " Ah Center, it appears that the problem is between the yoke and seat"
April 22, 201214 yr Steve, firstly thanks for your work on this. I really appreciate what you're doing! Everything seems to be working quite well for the most part, the only issue I'm having is that I don't seem to be able to move my view using the spacebar and mouse...the little crosshair cursor stays in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Not sure if this driver/interface manipulates the mouse cursor to do its thing or not? Other than that, everything is great. With your FSUIPC scripts I used to get the view jumping around in the VC when I activated switches/knobs etc, it's nice that this is gone now! April 23, 201214 yr Author Can't find anything wrong in FSUIPC nor Goflight Hi Patrick, PM me your email address and I will send you GoFlight's EFIS test program. Thx Steve Steve, firstly thanks for your work on this. I really appreciate what you're doing! April 23, 201214 yr Hi Steve, First a big complement for the driver. Realy fabulous. My question: any news yet on an update for the P8 prob? As I have 2 with functions assigened to them, when I push a button the driver stops working ( as mentioned above ) and I no longer have any GoFlight module to work with. A little auckward but I know it's temporary. Regards...Marc
