April 12, 201214 yr Author I'm not a super hardcore pilot so some of the other things you guys mention haven't jumped out at me, but the really poor pixelated rivets on the upper wing and engine when looking out the window look terrible and really stand out to me. I initially thought maybe my TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD had defaulted to 1024 and causing that but I checked and it's still at 4096 and it's just a very poor job on those rivets. Very surprising as Carenado is not always best on system bugs, but the graphics is one thing you can usually count on to be great, and especially for a $40 airplane, but not in this case. I tried the other livery... (Black engine nacelles with the tan belly-bank of England) Euro Reg tail number.. The black engine nacelles do make the disgusting rivets a little easier to look at.... the problem is I live in the States....I need that texture with an N Number and the American flag on the vertical tail.... Anyone up to make some paint changes?????

Anyone up to make some paint changes????? Yeah agreed the darker the paint the less the pixelated rivets stand out, also they seem to be worse right there by the window and better looking on the rest of the wing, too bad it is the ones we see so much of that are the worst. Carenado replied pretty quickly to my support email which was nice, they opened a ticket and asked for me to send screenshots, so I sent them a couple and will wait to hear what they say. I agree with you, I think someone with a little bit of paint talent could make realistic looking rivets, so hopefully even if they don't fix it in a service pack someone will fix it in a repaint. I'm actually enjoying flying this plane, but I'm just a virtual pilot and so some of the other bugs people found are stuff I haven't yet noticed. Hopefully they will fix the bugs and make this plane great. --John near KPAE

April 12, 201214 yr I've done 3 flights so far. I have not flown a C90, but the flight dynamics seem about right. I'm getting decent frame rates on my mid-level system, about the same as my Digital Aviation Cheyenne. I'm mostly using the light model, but don't really see much difference in frame rates. Re the autopilot, I set one of the rocker switches on my CH Flight Yoke to move the heading bug, using FSUIPC, works great. I also use a Desktop Aviator switch box for most of the autopilot functions, it's a simple hookup through a USB port and assignments made via FSUIPC, and works with most aircraft. I also setup a profile for the C90 in FSUIPC and set one of the switches on my CH Throttle Quadrant to bring up the autopilot window for when I need to use the course knob or adjust the vertical speed. For some reason, I have lost the flight director bars on the attitude indicator at some point during the flights. I need to check a few things and if I don't find I'm doing something wrong, I'll report it to Carenado. Overall, I'm glad I purchased the C90. There's a few problems with textures, reverse thrust sound, etc, but I find it enjoyable to fly. Dale Dale
April 12, 201214 yr Many of these things could be corrected easily.. buts let wait and see how many SP it will take to correct.. and how long we going to wait.. any bets..??
April 12, 201214 yr Many of these things could be corrected easily.. buts let wait and see how many SP it will take to correct.. and how long we going to wait.. any bets..?? Unfortunately, my confidence level is not high. It's one thing to buy a Carenado plane at $20-$25 or so. It s another prospect at $40 based on past history. April 12, 201214 yr Carenado support replied back on my rivets texture ticket, thanking me for the feedback and saying they will try to improve it for a SP1. Quick support and I'm hopeful for an eventual fix. --John near KPAE
April 12, 201214 yr I really want to buy this. My head tells me to wait for the patches.. Well, maybe you should... Crazily, I rushed to buy tonight, having seen fantastic really mouth watering pics from someone on this AVSIM site ("Crosswind" ?). So, although I had never owned any Carenado before, I had not failed to notice how great their products (sorry, planes) looked and managed to give you a feel. I have been playing at it for an hour tonight and am quite desillusioned so far, as many people seem to be, and I tend to agree with the comments on the props, and I will add, the difficulty to taxi the machine sensibly, the usual problem: won't move on idle, takes a long time to get moving when adding throttle and then... ooops it's reverse and on the brakes as you've moved from 0 to 30kt ! There is just no control. As for the feel, yes it looked good on pics, but the reality is that it's difficult to read "anything" with any precision on the dash. I suppose this is a model crying for EZDOK ( but there were pb with that too !) So yes, let's hope for patches, yes. The competition is fierce now, with many excellent models on the market, all the way up to A2Asim and PMDG; I really thought Carenado was more on the ball, and I do hope, guys yoou look at it. April 12, 201214 yr Hey guys..you all seem to be doing better than me. I spent two hours last night just trying to start pt6 engines. very experienced simmer, never gave up on an engine start, but after two hours enough was enough. i did fly it though, only after loading another aircraft on the ramp, starting her up, then switch to the C90. Following that I thought it flew okay, better than some, yes did notice a few glitches, but could live with many for a while. Did also struggle with setting headings, and course for nav options..whats up with that. never had two many issues with carenardo in past, but this one has me ticked. but before i go on blamming the developer, maybe i am overlooking something stupid on my part. I followed check list by book for start, but nothing but starter wine, then i went on trying everything i know regarding propjet starts, and just could not make it work, a matter of fact could not even get the right engine to even engage starter, only left, although checklist suggests right start, as with most twins. so any advice on that welcomed. yes i did email carenardo, and they responded right away reporting no issue reported on that following initial sales. they said try starting the way i did, i.e. go to another airplane, then s/w back. i had already done that with success, so system working, but no follow=up from them again. so what am i doing wrong? thanx paul

No,no, not at all. Turboprops (RW) are fun to taxi as they have so much torque and it's all done on idle with a bit of braking and/or beta mode. I know that FSX has a difficult coding that makes tyres "stick" on the ground, so it's not just Carenado's fault here, but do try FSD's Porter for example and you'll see it can be improved on the current Beech. Boy, I really do want to like this model... ! April 12, 201214 yr Beta is NOT simulated well in FSX full stop. I think that is most of the problem. Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD

Its simply a limitation of FS... a King Air, like most comparable turboprops are not all that hard to taxi, once you get the hang of ti.
