May 31, 201214 yr Newly retired with a brand new fixed (and limited) income. I own other RealAir planes and I had to have this one, especially after the early reviews. How is it? Worth anything and everything the bookkeeping department will whack me with. Get it! It's a jewel. Dave Skuback - KBLM'Cause down the shore everything's all right
May 31, 201214 yr Wow, it looks amazing ! Do you know if we can share the cockpit during a multiplayer session?
May 31, 201214 yr Wow, it looks amazing ! Do you know if we can share the cockpit during a multiplayer session? That's a good question., We know we have implemented a lot of optimisations that a multiplayer host helped us with a year ago on the Turbine Duke patch we issued, so multiplayer itself should not be a problem, but with shared cockpits things can get complicated as the more special effects you have, and the more customisation you do, the more things can go wrong when syncing with shared cockpit simming. The Legacy has about a hundred separate special sound and visual effects and almost all normal routines bypass the standard FSX ones in order for them to work. That could be ok, but might throw up a few problems. We are actually awaiting a detailed report from an expert in shared cockpit FSX flying. June 1, 201214 yr Congratulations, Rob and Sean. You guys are the kings of GA for a reason. Wishing you the best of luck with this release... not that you'll need it. ;-)
June 1, 201214 yr The best single engine piston for FS. Period. Great work Rob and Sean, I'm really amazed how far a "simple" addon aircaft can catch our passion for flight simulation. Breathtaking textures, outstanding modelling, immersive sounds and great features/options/documentation. And it flies great too lol. Love it! Mauricio Brentano

Thank you. I hear nothing but praise for the wonderful things you are doing over at ORBx and other places. June 1, 201214 yr Let me ask you Rob . On the documentation you say that the aircraft is tuned for P-Factor and Torque set at 1/3 of the scale inside FSX. I tried flying with this setting and I found the torque to be very subtle, specially for a 310HP engine. I fly a 160HP aircraft for my PPL and it takes a lot more rudder just to make it go straight during takeoff roll, and also during climb. Maybe the high speed of the climb for the Lancair makes up for that strong force and makes it more manageable, but at the Takeoff Roll I expect it to be much stronger. What do you think? I just love this addon, landing is a lot of fun, I still have to try a lot of maneuvers with it. Alexis Mefano
June 1, 201214 yr Just put 1.5hrs on this plane this evening with a friend who also bought it. Amazing aircraft. I'm really going to enjoy learning how to manager it during the various phases of flight (it's fast and slippery). Also, it worked with all of my Saitek Panels OUT OF THE BOX, utilizing the SPAD driver and default settings. That was a huge relief, normally my Multi Panel (autopilot) needs extensive configuration using mouse macros and the like. But not the Lancair! Everything works, and the panel displays update automatically. The only gripe so far (other than I need to become a much better pilot... it's so fast) is that there are several click spots on the Virtual Cockpit that cause you to change view. I use TrackIR, so I don't necessarily need them, and I've been accidentally hitting them while trying to click on other VC items. I bet there's an easy way to disable this, I just haven't figured it out yet. Great job, RealAir This plane makes me seriously consider adding the RealityXP G530, so I can do true /G IFR. For now I'm gonna keep it /A and maybe cheat with the default GPS occasionally.

We have to be quite careful about these things as many inexperienced users who are not pilots can be completely thrown by p-factor and then email us to complain the aircraft flies "wonky". A lot of forum members here are more experienced and more knowledgable so are used to setting these things themselves. You can of course also tweak the p=factor in the aircraft cfg, at your own risk, as well as setting the slider further to the right. Please run the options in the Config Panel which conveniently pops up right after first installing, and has an icon on your desktop. There, you can disable click spots and we did this specially for Track IR users. You might like to read the guide at some point as that tells you a lot more about a large number of other options you might find very useful Rob - RealAir Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
June 1, 201214 yr Amazing: I am not a fan of small a/c but this caught my attention and amazes me. This is the firsr a/c ever that I have seen with such graphics-- what's round looks round and not "polygonized." How they did i have no idea; but, this sets a new bar for graphics... simply amazing....This is really as real as it get's!

I intend to read the material cover-to-cover soon. I just had to jump in and start flying. I did manipulate some options in the config utility at first start but clearly I missed the specific option. Figures you guys would think of everything. Thanks. EDIT: Heh, it even says right on the option "For TrackIR users"
