I seem to have a problem and that is when i set preview dx10 on in FSX, the game loads on my secondary monitor, not my primary monitor. Is there a way to fix it?

And by the way, the thing works indeed.

How about Addon jets and Addon airports ?

Only have Orbx PNW, CRM, NRM and all of the respective airports/airfiels, Gerard. KSEA and KPDX are the converted FS9 airports, with Don Grovestein's CYYJ, plus Vancouver+ by Jon Patch, et al. Don's aircraft are not compatible at CYYJ and a couple of buildings, plus some of the Autogen at PDX is also not compatible. KSEA has flashing jetway step railings, but I can probably fix that. I have it, but haven't tested FT's Princess Juliana scenery.

 

... and right now it's a battle to try P3D or not.... :Thinking:

I tested it out last night and most everything looks amazing with an impressive bump in frame rate. The only problem on my system is that I get a very annoying screen tearing affect when rotating my view. It's as if my screen were divided into several horizontal sections and they rotate at slightly different speeds before joining up again.

 

I played around with some of the Nvidia Inspector settings, hoping to find the cause, but had no luck. Tried removing the 1/2 sync setting but no cigar. But I did find that if I changed the setting "8xS" to "8xSQ" in Nvidia Inspector, the tearing was "slightly" lessened. Unfortunately it was still enough to get me back to DX9...

 

I was hoping someone has experienced this and perhaps found a tweak that works.

 

I just remembered that another thing was that the water looked pretty bad, especially at night. I use Rex2 Essential and the "sparkling" setting, which looks amazing in DX9. But in DX10, it's not looking the same. I'll try to take some print-screens to show examples of this.

 

Otherwise, the experimental shader is amazing. There's a "crispness" to the overall look of the sim, not to mention the almost doubling of frame rate for me. One little thing that really caught my eye were the landing lights of the AI airplanes, particularly the commercial airliners, when going through the clouds. It looked fantastic. Also, the headlights/taillights of the cars looked extra sharp.

I havent seen that...the only issue i have had was over water the controls (keyboard, and joystick) get sluggish. but still not enough to worry about

I'm reading all this and I'm thinking ok, I'll give it a try. So I go to my graphics page to find the DX10 preview choice........and its not there. Running W7, GTX 580, NI ver.1.9.6.5

I remember seeing it long ago but, after several recommended tweaks like most everyone else uses, I don't see it anymore. My visuals and performance are great right now, but there's always that "new" tweak that is so tempting.

Any suggestions would be appreciated as to what is causing this.

Re-install it - yes. Somehow/somewhere you've lost this feature. Check back here. Does the Control Panel "Uninstall/Change" show SP2 as being installed?

What I meant was, without re-installing it like Ramon recommended, it was already showing in the control panel. But no DX10 preview.
