June 18, 201213 yr Don't replace it. Merge them, or you'll lose the POSKY XML, which is important. There's also an installation guide in the manual. ok, I downloaded the southern air 777 package but the autopilot was the default 737 so I am going to download the one that says in the panel read me, the KLM 777 one. I am having a problem with the airplane everything is good except I dont have a functional fmc and I dont have any overhead panels also my vc does not look as good as the one in the pictures that was posted by someone in page one of the topic. Thanks Did you place the required text in the dll.xml file? That is required for certain systems to work, such as the FMC. You'll want to read through the installation manual again and check off each item in order to make sure you installed it correctly. Also, you may try downloading a "clean" 777 from POSKY, using the panel folder supplied by them. Thanks, Adlai

June 19, 201213 yr I had no idea POSKY still had a website. OK can I ask a few questions that I hope you guys will have patience enough to answer in detail. (If I ever helped you, this will be payback!) :hi: I went to the POSKY website and found a whole slew of 777-200 and 777-300 models for FSX. Which ones do I download? What are the actual links? Where are the panels I download for them? What are the actual links? How do I merge them and what xml code needs to be written where? I feel about as informed and knowledgable as a newbie with this. It has been so long ago that I did anything remotely like this. I think the last time was trying to merge a VC with a meljet way back when Tom Allensworth was still a teenager, or something.

It has been so long ago that I did anything remotely like this. I think the last time was trying to merge a VC with a meljet way back when Tom Allensworth was still a teenager, or something. As you know, POSKY is a flaky bunch - chances are, they'll be too busy arguing among themselves and won't close the site on time. Their site has been up and down for years now. Anyway, do you want native models, and no VC, or FS2004 models, and get a VC? That decides which model you get. Let's assume you want the FedEx 777-200LFR, with a VC, alright? Download that. Now you'll want the latest model. Go to the Model Packages page and download the file called "VC>SP2A F Large Cargo Door (OS772LFRV2--L_VC)". Follow the directions included in the ReadMe. Now, go to the Panel Packages page, and download the file called "Virtual Cockpit 32-Bit bmp Textures". Place these textures in the plane's texture folder. If you care for FDE, you'll want to move over to the FDE Packages page, and download the file "FDE Pack Service Pack D". Copy and paste any aircraft entries to the new aircraft.cfg, then move that and the new air file to the plane's folder, replacing the originals. Finally, move to the Sounds Packages page, and download the sound pack. I assume you know what to do with a sound folder. As for the panel, and everything related to it, look in the installation manual. It goes into great detail how to modify the dll.xml, where to put the new block of text, and what to do with the many folders in the package downloaded. Hope this helped a little. :Nerd: Thanks, Adlai
June 19, 201213 yr Thanks Adlai, I would want a FSX 777-200LR type (pass) and 777-300 ER with full virtual cockpit and hopefully with a full working VC, no 2D panels, with sounds, animations and effects, all in, FSX only. Kind regards,
June 19, 201213 yr Author Thanks Adlai, I would want a FSX 777-200LR type (pass) and 777-300 ER with full virtual cockpit and hopefully with a full working VC, no 2D panels, with sounds, animations and effects, all in, FSX only. Stephen Well, to get a different aircraft type, just follow the same procedure, but use the corresponding model and FDE. The panel comes with a 2D panel, so I guess you'll just have to suffer the extra feature that neither the PMDG or CaptainSim one will have. You could manually remove them, but why remove a feature given to you, even if you don't expect to like it. Remember to use a "VC>..." model, which, whilst not optimized for FSX (not native), are the only ones containing a VC. All effects, animations, sounds, and the VC will work fine, provided you install it right. And by the way. You deserve some help now and again. I mean, you moderate the biggest Flight Sim community there is. So yes, this is "payback". Thanks, Adlai
June 19, 201213 yr Adlai, There is a posky pack on simviation that was added in march this year. It claims to be an amalgamation of the vc and the latest fde. Would you know if that is the best option? Some of the files from the posky website date back to 2010! Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
June 19, 201213 yr IMO the easiest way and how I got it working in no time: - go to simviation.com and search for "posky fsx 777": you'll find a number of quite recent full packages including VC and some with custom sounds of different 777 variants and paints. Choose one of your choice, download and install - download the panel here at the avsim library (link see one of the previous posts): the download comes with a very detailed installation guide which you REALLY HAVE TO FOLLOW step by step, otherwise you won't get it working. It's not only replacing the panel folder, you need to copy a couple modules, edit the aircraft.cfg and the dll.xml file. It's no problem at all, the description in the readme of the panel is very good. p.s.: don't forget to restart FSX after installation - the new gauges and modules need to be loaded by FSX first to work ! I have only shortly played around with the panel but it really looks phantastic - and the feature list is amazing for a freeware offering. Thanks to the author(s) and thanks to the OP for bringing this to our attention ! ---------------- Albert Martin
June 19, 201213 yr You guys mean something like this ? This is the Posky 777 for FSX with TSS sounds and ISG panels ( incl FMC ) The image on the lower DU is something I have made, but ISG has a working lower eicas. Ofcoarse you can only use the JB panels. They are very good and I used them till I bought the ISG package. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
June 19, 201213 yr GSalden, Are you saying you installed JBPanels and merged ISG gauges? Can you share your panel.cfg? Thanks. Ed Farley
June 19, 201213 yr Looks good, but I admit it's all a bit confusing. Perhaps the "pre-packaged" options at simviation might help, but the posky site is not what I would term intuitive. Edit: I did download one of the packages by Chris Evans and then went through the install procedures for the panel. Looks nice initially, but most of the buttons in the VC were not clickable. None of the autopilot, none of the overhead, although some of the pedestal seemed ok. Odd. - Aaron
