July 6, 201213 yr Helicopters, like fixed-wing planes, have highly survivable options in the event of total loss of engine power. Tiltrotors? Not as much. Like he said, you can't autorotate very well and you can't glide much, either. Tiltrotors offer the performance advantages of both types of aircraft, but they also limit the safety options of both. I'll fly a tiltrotor in a sim, sure. But I will keep my distance in the real world. I knew people who made different choices. That is certainly your prerogative! J. R.
July 6, 201213 yr But like I said, I'm not saying I don't want to see them in sims. They certainly are an interesting concept.
July 6, 201213 yr The Japanese are smart, they don't even want them flying in their airspace.. Can't blame them for that. http://www.washingto...s4LW_story.html Something goes wrong with it an it has the aerodynamic qualities of a concrete block.....

July 6, 201213 yr So, how about an S-61 or SH-3 Sea King? How can you not love a helicopter with a boat hull?
July 6, 201213 yr So, how about an S-61 or SH-3 Sea King? How can you not love a helicopter with a boat hull? A doctor friend of mine was a Pilot in one of those in the Marine Core. He was telling me that they had a contest once with I think an F15, racing to 10 or 15 thousand feet. They tied the Sea King down, spooled the engines ( 3 I believe) up to full power, and released the tie down, as the F-15 started it's climb at full throttle. When they got to the assigned altitude, one of the crew members on the Sea King took a picture of the F15 as it was climbing past them...

July 7, 201213 yr Something id want to see, but it wont happen would be a nice E3 AWACS. Something i better see soon but have been already mentioned. Helicopters. Something im shocked didnt come with the game. The usual cessna. Im also shocked some aircraft do not have VC (all of them should at this point.. hell i use to have a VC editor to make my own for FSX.. uhm. yea. lol). We use to at least get a stupid 2d cockpit for the crappy FSX planes. But hey.. arcade games like 'World of Warplanes' dont have cockpits.. why should this? (sarcasm ;) ) Im still a little agitated the AP in the 'deluxe' maule doesnt work. Couldnt beleive that when i tried to flip it on. yay its painted. lol. but im sure thats been mentioned before a well. I miss my garmin. sniff. Some of my friends asked me if they should buy this or not. I told them to wait and see how they deal with these issues.
