Just for your suggestions -- could you provide tool tips, mouse overs?

I haven't had to read the manual yet :)

Great thanks. Could the OPUS team also develop a full fledge Vatsim client that can replace the aging FSInn? I would gladly pay for a stable, and easy to configure version :)

I am sorry if this has been brought up already, but I am consistently getting winds during landing that are completely off (about 180 degrees off). I've tried updating weather in flight with no joy. It only changes to what the METAR says once I've parked the aircraft.

Obviously not good when I do all my flying online.

Once again, sorry if it's already been asked about, but I couldn't find any answers.

In the latest betas you can turn wind smoothing off which should help. If you fly high level you might suffer from wind shifts if your FSX is over burdened (we haven't had this problem with our in-house systems). You should read our Announcements topic on our Flight1 forum.

I just tried to update a beta and I have an error message "the installation folder is undefined". I press enter and it continues on and seems to be working. Ive uninstalled it, and went back to an official 2.24 release then updated it again but same thing happens.

After you have unzipped into c:\OpusFSX please check your Configuration an Weather dialogs again. You will probably find you have not defined your FSX installation folder. You will have to do that anyway after re-installing 2.24 because the software is not forward compatible and you will have corrupted your OpusFSX configuration file.

All the beta was prompting you to do was check your configuration.

Thank you. Will try it right now into ENRY which is reporting 14004KT 5000 RA BKN006. Oh, and I forgot to mention that I absolutely love Opus. ^_^

After a lot of testing, i came to the conclusion that my "winds" problem is actually a difference in pressure. Also, with 2.28 i no longer get the "cannot load weather theme" error i was getting with 2.27 and 2.27 alone (never happened before 2.27).

After more than 20 hours flying i am still getting occasional pressure differences in altitude (FL320-330-340, etc). Will setting the transition altitude to LOWER than 320 fix this issue?

Hi, please refer to our posts above, the wind shifts indicate your FSX is struggling, so try setting your TA to zero and don't relax wind smoothing. If this works try a TA of 19,000 ft and an RA of 17,000.

Cheryl

I'm sorry i missed them. Will test as advised, once this is sorted out, it's perfect to me. Great job!

Ok here is the summary with Opus 228 Beta.

the METAR at ENRY called 13005KT 070V160. On final I had 184/6kt, then it changed to 178/5kt right after I landed. Much better than before - and besides it did report variable wind in the METAR.

However, I am a bit lost as to wether I have the settings right. I am flying the NGX.

Updates:

5 Minutes or 30 KM

Wind Stabilisation and Smoothing:

Transition altitude: 60000 ft

Recovery alt: 10000 ft

Max wind change: 180 degrees

I have checked Relax surface wind smoothing with max speed change 30 knots pr 32 km, max direction change 15 degrees pr 32 km

I could really use some tips when it comes to these settings

Thanks

PS. The weather at Rygge was awful by the way.. .
