I tried it with the PMDG Ngx. No problem whatsoever.

Great find! Respect!

It's not working for me.Actually after I installed this everything looked nasty. Houses floating in the air, shimmering trees.Really bad stuff.I unticked dx10 and rebooted and everything is back to normal.almost.My trees still shimmer now.

Has anyone tried this using multi monitors. I am having trouble when trying to go fullscreen at 3840 x 1024 with a Matrox Triple Head 2 Go. The screen flashes a couple of times then reverts to the middle monitor in a squished configuration.

Would love to try the DX10 Preview but no luck so far...

Cheers

Tried this hack but lots of shimmering, lots of jaggy lines, and no bloom (ENB series only works for dx9); so it actually looks worst off to me.

Works fine for me, Hamish. You might check Matrox's site for new drivers, though. Actually - I only ever had issues with setting up the bezel management, and that was largely because of their atrocious documentation and support. Occasionally the PowerDesk doesn't start, but I created a .bat file to do that from the desktop. Other than that - no problems. Great product.

Eemer, can you run dxdiag and post the output?

Also there are some other old threads from people with a similar issue e.g

http://forum.avsim.n...s-gone-missing/

I haven't looked at them all but the one above was related to some 3d drivers, looking back through them might throw up an idea.

Steve,

Here is my Dxdiag results.

When I first switched to DX10 Preview mode, I had to reset the texture filtering to Anisotropic (it had changed back to Bilinear), and tick the Anti Aliasing box again. Some people would argue that these should be disabled in game when using an external utility like Nvidia Inspector, but that isn't the case on my PC.

christopher, when you set up nvidia inspector..make sure to have it set to override appication settings for AA and AF...then just ignore what fsx settings say

Steve,

Here is my Dxdiag results.

I noticed in your attached DxDiag.txt file: DirectX Version: DirectX 11

Not sure, but maybe that's why you can't choose DX10 preview in the graphics page. Yes?

Are you running WinXP? If so that is your problem, as XP does not support DX10!

Edit: Just noticed you are using Vista, which should work! I'm on Vista as well!!

You can try forcing it by putting the following line in the FSX.CFG file in the Graphics section.

D3D10=1

My entry in the cfg. was D3D10=0

I changed it to D3D10=1

Still does not show up in the graphics page choices.

I'm running the 301.42 drivers. Is anyone else using these drivers and seeing the DX10 preview choice?

Thank you,

Tom

im using a GeForce GTX 550 Ti and my drivers are 301.42....and im running dx10...do you have acceleration installed?

No, I am not using Acceleration. And I am on Windows 7 64, not Vista as someone mentioned earlier.

This is getting frustrating. Would it make sense to revert back to an earlier driver to see if it comes back?

as far as i know you need the acceleration pack for fsx to have dx10
