September 14, 201213 yr Provides you with a fully functional co-pilot you can control with voice. Really would have to read about it to get it all. Will be my next add on. Randy Swofford
September 14, 201213 yr What does FS2Crew really do though? Look at the video beneath and please read the description carefully. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=s4j0RsiWCJk Kind regards Peter
September 14, 201213 yr Also fsuipc fixes in most cases the dreaded g3d.dll errors. I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
September 14, 201213 yr FS2Crew is for me, the icing on the cake for the NGX. Also fsuipc fixes in most cases the dreaded g3d.dll errors. Good point! DIMITRI
September 14, 201213 yr All of the PMDG models, the Level D 767 and other high quality add-on aircraft have this self same problem with un-moderated FS weather - and even with Active Sky added too. I can't comment on REX but from what you say, that doesn't resolve the problem either. So, if you want to fly ANY hi-fidelity aircraft, whether or not you have a weather add-on, you'll almost certainly need FSUIPC. I'd save some dosh by avoiding FS2Crew...after all...I forked out dosh for the aircraft addon to actually interract & fly it as it was designed to be flown Three questions. Was the 737 designed for single pilot operation? Was any airliner designed for single pilot operation? Is it legal to fly any airliner with a single pilot?
September 14, 201213 yr I have the FS2Crew Special Budle pack for the NGX 737, the FO is fantastic and makes it even more of a joy to fly.
September 14, 201213 yr Three questions. Was the 737 designed for single pilot operation? Was any airliner designed for single pilot operation? Is it legal to fly any airliner with a single pilot? No, its a multi crew aircraft, it would be a nightmare to fly it alone. Even in cessna 172 (or any other single crew aircraft) sometimes is very hard to do all tasks when you fly in busy area, so its always a good idea to have one more person to help you, it could be easy task, like to pick up pencil you drop down or something more challenging like nav log, radio com... September 14, 201213 yr Chaps, if he wants to illogically regard FSUIPC as "expensive" and thus suffer sudden wind shifts and S turns, and miss out on all the other features of FSUIPC... leave him to his eccentric ways.
September 14, 201213 yr Author Wind turbulance is simulated poorly in FSX and PMDG aircraft in general and very sensitive to it. You can choose to disable turbulance effects inside the FSX weather engine which will prevent this issue from occurring if you do not want to buy FSUIPC. No it doesn't. The free version of FSUIPC has no customisable properties, all you get is a screen inside the user interface asking you to buy the product. I'll consider that first and then consider FSUIPC. I have the FS2Crew Special Budle pack for the NGX 737, the FO is fantastic and makes it even more of a joy to fly. Agreed, as far as I know everything is current on the NG and you quickly become accustomed to the flows as PF and what to respond to in the checklists. Fantastic during takeoff and landing since things like flaps, gears, radios and lights are a nightmare when trying to fly the aircraft on the director. Nice to call flaps, gears and have someone next to you making the flight that but more important. True, but at the same time, FS2Crew isn't required, and neither is REX. They're choices of the user to add realism. My point is that in the land of simming $32 isn't that bad. For the utility of it, it's well worth the price. It's not a bad price but lately after the gradual purchase of many airport scenery, utility addons, not to mention saitek products and a new 32 inch 1080p monitor. 32 USD for me at the moment is very expensive and it is a shame that I am forced to purchase something that shouldn't be affecting the NGX.
September 14, 201213 yr FS2Crew is for me, the icing on the cake for the NGX. Agreed. What does FS2Crew really do though? You, the pilot flying, can focus on flying, while the "other guy" is flipping switches and setting flaps, gear etc by your voice commands. Much more realistic and immersive. Daniel Nilsson
September 14, 201213 yr I use direct weather control within AS2012, and I maybe get S-Turns on every 20 flight, lasting about 30 seconds, without having FSUIPC. I neither have the FS2Crew NGX version, as I can't operate it with voice, and I don't want to control it by buttons (I do so in the MD-11tough) which is a pity. John Rubens
September 14, 201213 yr It's not a bad price but lately after the gradual purchase of many airport scenery, utility addons, not to mention saitek products and a new 32 inch 1080p monitor. 32 USD for me at the moment is very expensive and it is a shame that I am forced to purchase something that shouldn't be affecting the NGX. I find it "interesting" that you will put out fairly big bucks for quite a variety of add-ons, but resent paying out anything to fix what sounds like is making FSX unusable for you. I also note that you have said a couple of times that you shouldn't be forced to buy something to fix something that " shouldn't be affecting the NGX." Why should the NGX be any less affected by completely unrealistic windshear than any other aircraft? It's flying in the same atmospheric conditions any other airplane in FSX is subjected to. In my experience, REX has not eliminated or resolved the windshear issue, but AS2012 seems to have. In remote areas where stations are far apart, I will get more issues with sudden shifts, but in areas where there are many reporting stations, the smoothing between those is impressive. I think if FSX isn't flyable on certain days without some sort of fix, either FSUIPC or AS2012 should be your next purchase. Without one or the other, it sounds like all your other purchases were for naught. No?
September 15, 201213 yr I know that changing the .cgf file voids PMDG support, but I saved the original .cfg file. I imagine the NGX is too stable when flying manually, so I changed the stability and effectiveness parameters, but the side-effect was some oscillations with the autopilot. I'm just wondering whether changing some parameter in the autopilot .cfg would make it more stable. Teo Halfen
September 15, 201213 yr @Teo Well if you start to mess things in your .cfg file up, because you imagine (so you don't have any clue how the real 737 is) something, you shouldn't ask for some fixes for problems which may occur. Passenger aircraft, unlike modern fighters, are designed to be stable, and since release you are probably the first one how says that the NGX is too stable. But, yeah all the real world 737 which also fly the NGX don't have a clue, and so the NGX is wrong because your "imagination" says so. John Rubens
September 15, 201213 yr Well, a friend of mine who flies the 737NG told me that the FDE of the NGX was "lolbad", he didnt feel like it flew anything like how the real plane flew. The NGX was far too sensitive. He's not a flightsimmer tho, and he flew with a table joystick and not a yoke. vatsim s3
