Unfortunate.

 

All it takes is one move like that and your entire life can change. Job lost, income lost and quality of life compromised...all for an Ipad. Not worth it.

Wow.

You know I am shocked but also at the same time not really so that these people would be involved at this level and this much in something like this. It doesn't surprise me though that someone who has the ultimate access would not abuse it.

 

Sad that truly, the few do taint the many.

It happens all over the world, anywhere where owners and possessions are separated. Such a loss over an ......... iPad?

But they said 9 out of 10 officers followed procedures, and surely theft of personal belongings is not a new issue with airline baggage employees. I remember 60 minutes reports on this when I was just a kid!

That's kinda like saying that if one hobbyist at a Flight sim gathering is caught stealing, flight simmers are obvious scum.....?

It's one more reason the agency is disgraceful. I think there's enough evidence that the TSA is disgusting and ran like a bunch if thugs. We give up more and more personal liberty and they're just another cog in the wheel. Freedom is dangerous, I'm happy to have it that way rather than the alternative.

It just takes one bad apple is all.....I can't think of any organization free of that one. One bad cop, one bad priest, one bad politician, etc etc etc. the list goes on.

That's what I am getting at. And I know not all of them steal, I know that others are poorly trained, unable to learn, some are undesirables in that position, don't pay attention, go overboard etc.

 

I fly very very frequently. I see this with my own eyes. Most are ok, but a majority should honestly be just guarding parking lots and such.

Busted!!! Hahaha. And his face is on national TV and all over the internet. He must feel like crap. LOL.

 

But seriously, we have a saying in the Netherlands... "opportunity makes the thief." Leaving an iPad unattended can make a thief out of anybody. I was amazed to hear 9 out of 10 iPads were returned to their owners. I would have expected less.

I can see I am gonna be severely outnumbered on this, but the broad brush makes me uncomfortable. A random sampling of passerby on the street given an opportunity to nab an iPad would likely come up with similar or worse numbers.

 

At worst it means that their screening could be better.
