September 29, 201213 yr Commercial Member They set these folks up to succeed, just as much as they other way. If they were not doing anything wrong, they would have followed correct procedures, like they had been trained to do, and looked very professional, like many of the TSA employees that they did the same thing to and they followed their training. These people are just thieves dressed in TSA uniforms and they should be removed from these positions. You all make good points, and like I said before I'm not defending the guy (I also agree wholeheartedly that he is a scumbag based on the fact that he was willing to throw his wife under the bus, what a chump!). I still maintain however that we don't need folks manufacturing crime that otherwise would not have taken place. The media is famous for this, they get ratings out of it, and therefore are doing it more and more nowdays. It just peeves me every time I see it done. It consumes judicial resources that are already taxed to the limit and that we as taxpayers are paying the bill for. It's not their place to do sting operations, that's the job of the police, FBI, or it actually should have taken place within TSA itself. If the news media wanted to expose TSA and really do something productive about it they could have followed up on a case of theft that had already taken place such as the man from Texas who's complaints with the TSA had fallen on deaf ears. If they'd done this, they could have taken the investigation to a higher level within TSA rather than focusing on the peons and done something effective that may have possibly set a new precedence in the way TSA deals with complaints. That of course would not have been nearly as interesting a news story as some cocky idiot in a uniform stealing something that could be tracked to his home with the findme app. It irks me that the media portrays themselves as the hero in a case like this when in fact they are contributing to crime rather than doing something to help alleviate it. As it is, they have removed one low level employee from his position in TSA and tomorrow it will be business as usual. The abuse of power will continue with the next low level employee, while the higher-ups that are supposed to be keeping tabs on these kinds of things weren't even made to feel uncomfortable, let alone held accountable. Jim
September 29, 201213 yr You can't manufacture crime. You're either a criminal or you're not. So all undercover operations are manufacturing crime? That's absurd. Don't steal. Who cares why the iPad was left there don't take it if it doesn't belong to you. The problem isn't with the media the problem is with criminals. Thieves. Disgusting humans who think only of their little petulant desires for something that's not theirs. I don't care who it is or why the iPad was there. He's a thief. A freaking thief. And people are mad at the media? Really? Randy Swofford

September 29, 201213 yr The strangest thing about that video are those weird freaks behind the announcer waving and blowing kisses to the world. Why do people do that? I :( Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk 2

Jim I guess you feel that if you set a mouse trap and catch a mouse, that the mouse would not have been there if you didn't set the trap. So don't set any mouse traps and you will never have mice  That makes a lot of sense! Robert Yunque

I guess that means that you would go outside, catch mice, and turn them loose in your house just so you could catch them in a trap? That makes a lot of sense! Obviously this conversation is going nowhere, lol

Obviously this conversation is going nowhere, lol I don't think anyone had to go outside to find the dishonesty. The mouse was right at the airport, and fell for the trap. Stings have always been a very effective and perfectly legal means for law enforcement to apprehend thieves and drug dealers. This type of sting should have been set up by the authorities within the airport, but since they were not on the ball, we have a media to expose their deficiency to the public. Robert Yunque

What people are saying is that: A) The cheese wouldn't have been nibbled if I hadn't put it in the mouse trap, and B ) maybe I should put my effort into fixing the holes that let the mice into my house rather than being all proud about how I caught one of them. September 30, 201213 yr Mice nibble cheese it's in their nature. Theives steal for the same reason. It doesn't matter how their caught just that their caught. Randy Swofford
September 30, 201213 yr Yet out of the ten people offered the cheese, nine turned it down. Strange we are not interviewing, congratulating, discussing, or even thinking much about them. Apparently the TSA is simply disliked, and we enjoy seeing it get some egg on its face. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... Best post of the whole thread... +1 When it comes to law enforcement in all it's variants, the vast majority of the population will always highlight the rotten apples. It's just the nature of the beast. Regards, Efrain RuizLiveDISPATCH @ http://www.livedispatch.org (CLOSED) ☹️

September 30, 201213 yr I wonder why... :Rolling Eyes: :Sigh: The problem is often that the public sees what they don't like and does not see what they themselves sometimes do to make things worse. I have worked at jobs that required public contact, and even when you are trying to do your best to be helpful, all too often people want to do what they want to do when they want to do, it and behave like spoiled brats. It's a good bet that every stereotype the public probably has about these people has generated a counterpoint on the other side about the public. Yet they perform a necessary function in the way they are required by their employers to do it. As has often been said. "I'm sorry ma'm, I didn't make the rule." Name a popular enforcement organization with very frequent public contact. Traffic enforcement? Nope. Highway patrol? Nope. TSA? I guess that would be no. We are all connected.....
