October 23, 201213 yr Congratulations to the team or individual on the creation of OpusFSX. I have been with ActiveSky for a good couple of years and other Wx engines before that - which I loved. But the immersion factor with the weather engine seals the deal for OpusFSX - and I haven't even looked yet at what else she has up her sleeve! First flight out of VIDP today (to EGCC) in heavy ground fog that went well beyond anything I have seem generated in FSX since 2006. Bravo Zulu! Disclaimer - I am not associated with OpusFSX and don't often hit the boards, but this piece of software is a no-brainer. Scott Robinson
October 24, 201213 yr Once they add accurate high altitude winds aloft, then I'll buy it. As a tubeliner pilot, that's the #1 priority for my wx engine for accurate fuel planning. AJ Pongress
October 24, 201213 yr Commercial Member We are currently working on historic weather generation and then we will move on to winds aloft. Not too long to wait now!.. Cheryl
October 24, 201213 yr Awesome thanks for letting us know. http://fs2crew.com/banners/Banner_FS2Crew_MJC_Supporter.png Wayne HART
October 24, 201213 yr Just to support the title of this thread, i am a new user of this software and have to say the product and the support behind it is top drawer. What little difficulties i have had, i have been able to solve through previous threads or somebody has beaten me to it and asked the question before me. I've only been using it for a week, had a problem with the Live Camera at the beginning, one week later, install Beta, problem solved. This software should get two Gold Stars, one for product excellence and one for support. Rick Hobbs
October 24, 201213 yr Just bought it! Well, last night I did. Haven't had much chance to play around yet, but initial impressions were very positive. Jack Jack Johnston
October 24, 201213 yr I agree 110%!!! It is excellent!!! Just unbelievably beautiful weather. Yesterday I did a flight into ENGM with weather reporting a ceiling of 0' broken. I didn't really have time to go to an alternate due to real world constraints so I shot the approach to 19L anyway. Luckily, with it being a broken ceiling, I managed to hit a little hole between clouds at around 300' AGL and get sight of the runway. At the end of my rollout was another cloud about 3/4 down the runway and one that was just a little south of the main terminal building. It looked beautiful. Just like fog patches that I had seen on my drive to work that morning. I used ActiveSky for many years now and while that's not a bad product at all either, I've just never experienced weather like this before in FS!! I can't get enough flying right now just for the simple fact of seeing what the weather is going to be like and the fact that you actually fly into it. It doesn't disappear all of sudden. It's there. You can start your descent and see a cloud layer or front approaching or over the airport and know that you're going to have to fly into that on landing. Like yesterday, I saw that ENGM was socked in, even from 80 miles out and it stayed that way - all the way in on the approach. It was awesome!! Just some gorgeous skies since getting Opus!! Highly recommend this product!! And, as has been said many, many times, the support is top notch!! Regards, Kevin LaMal "Facts Don't Care About Your Feelings" - Shapiro2024
October 24, 201213 yr Klamal, thanks for the great description. Do you use Opus for camera, textures and WX? Regards Morten Steen Sent from my iPhone via Tapatalk
October 24, 201213 yr I just played around a bit with the demo, man it looks great!!! Next week is my birthday, geuss what i want for my birthday
October 24, 201213 yr Morten, I'm not sure what you mean by textures...Opus doesn't have any textures themselves. They just inject the weather into FSX. They don't decide what image gets displayed on the screen. FSX does that. So, it will use whatever textures you have. For me, I have AS2012 so I use the textures from that. I haven't tried anything other than the weather engine yet. That was the biggest thing that sold me on Opus. The other things are icing on the cake that I will probably try in time. I have just been too immersed with the weather engine and just flying in real, accurate, beautiful weather that I haven't taken the time yet to mess with the 2 other pieces of this great software. October 24, 201213 yr Sorry, my bad, I'm mixing AS with Opus. I have REXE, textures are great but the WX is c***. So I will get either Opus or AS just for the WX. Propably both... :-) Regards Morten Steen Sent from my iPhone via Tapatalk

Propably both... :-) Just curious but why would you get both AS and Opus? If you have REXE and like their textures, you really only need AS or Opus. October 24, 201213 yr Just to decide what is the best ;-) Both programs have their hardcore fans and I might just have to try and decide myself. I like flying in RT weather. Regards Morten Steen Sent from my iPhone via Tapatalk
October 24, 201213 yr This really is a monumental step forward in FSX weather. This really is a must buy. I did some back country flying in Idaho with the Orbx rocky mountain's the other day and there were low clouds in the valley's that was simply stunning. If you have to bring lunch to work for a few days so you can buy this, it's amazing.
