  1. I really like it so far. I brought AA to 32x in Nvidia Inspector as I was getting some shimmering trees. Using the flight 1 b200 at Blueprints LAX I noticed a marked fps improvement of about 8-10fps so from 15 to about 25 on very dense scenery settings up from dense. I will sell my 660ti to offset the cost but the price point at $330usd was well worth it imho especially because I also run iRacing on triples. Tim
  2. I found the issue. My GoogleFu was a little off. See this thread: http://community.vatsim-uk.co.uk/topic/29425-calling-any-fsx-expert/ and this from this thread: You pointed me in the right direction, and by disabling Shape Services iDisplay and Air Display Graphics Adapter in my Device Manager, I am now able to use FSX using SP2. I have wasted so much time trying to isolate this problem I am now over the moon! I can now start installing all my other aircraft and services and get back to a normal life.... Thanks Zoran, I'm not. I run triple screen 2DVI x 1 HDMI, but that would be a good thought. Thank you for your quick reply!
  3. New Zotac GTX970. Rest of the system specs: I2500k OC'd 4.4ghz MSI mobo 16gb ram. Win7 64bit. Installed new 970 tonight. Upgrading from 660ti. Installed new card, removed old drivers, reboot installed new drivers reboot. Received the error: This graphics card does not meet minimum requirements for shader support. This product requires a geForce3/Radeon8500 class or better graphics card. FSX will now exit. I tried removing the shaders in username/local/microsoft... and erasing the fsx.cfg. CFG shows the new card. Nothing is working. I got the card for FSX but also for another sim I run. I did remove FSX and reinstall. Rebooted and then installed Acceleration and that's when I got the error. FSX ran w/o Acceleration installed. Any thoughts are more than welcome! Tim
  4. When switching on the wing lights only the left wing is illuminated.
  5. Hope it's an easy fix! Keep up the great work
  6. Hi All, I have been using Opus since October and love it. I recently reinstalled my FSD Navajo for FSX. I loaded it up last night and the windows were grayed out in the VC. I started FSX like I always do, load the sim, start TrackIR, start Opus. When I switched to the 2d panel all was fine as was switching aircraft. If I cleared the weather via the FSX menu I could see out, but once Opus reloaded real wx the windows went back to grayed out. And yes, the weather was clear at my airport. I got it fixed by loading FSX "real wx" then changing that option back to "user wx." I was able to complete the flight without incident after I did that. Probably not many people flying the FSD Navajo as it is older software but any thoughts on the issue would be great!
  7. I'd like to see a 402/421 but also a Navajo, i.e. Navaslow would be nice too. I haven't touched FSD's in forever as it is dated.
  8. I worked line service while in college and we had (not sure if still there) the remains of a MU2 that bought the farm at the end of the runway. It filled 3 55 gallon drums. Quite sad. This can be a tricky plane to fly. I was filling a tip tank on one once and a gust of wind lifted the wing and when it came down I took a bath in Jet-A. There is something about it that I just love about it though. Thanks for making one, my credit card is ready
  9. One of my favorite a/c. Can't wait!
  10. I haven't tried that yet, but always wondered...do you remember your takeoff weight?
  11. One thing that helped me tremendously was backing up my fsx.cfg then letting FSX rewrite a new one of which I redid my edits. I haven't had a CTD since doing so. The patches/hotfixes went just fine. I previously had CTD's when approaching the FAF and disconnecting the A/P. I've done a dozen flights with no issues.
  12. Those are great! I just flew into there the other day. Looks funny to see summer textures Good idea!
  13. I really like the shell you built. What did you use for materials?
  14. Those are awesome! I haven't done a JBU flight yet and I can't wait! Coming from the NGX I'm satisfied with the Extended so far and some things will be updated to make it even better. For $40 'Merican dollars you can't go wrong.
  15. I didn't quite do a full day but on this past Sunday I flew the NGX from ATL-CHS (Charleston, SC), CHS-ATL, ATL-BNA (Nashville), BNA-ATL. I didn't do full cold/dark shutdowns but either had the APU on or ground power but did all WX/Flight planning in between with taxi to gates. I also used GSX for boarding/deboarding while prepping for the next flight. I think it was around 6.5 hours or so. It was a lot of fun for sure! I was also using the the ForeFlight app on my ipad for the first time that now can connect to FSX to have a moving map and all the charts/plates I need. Great stuff there.
  16. In regards to the autoland, I can't tell you the last time I used autoland in any sim-aircraft however, I flew back from Aruba on JetBlue which was a A320. The landing was quite good but I couldn't help but ask if they used autoland or manual. The captain looked at me and said "was it that bad?" A flight attendant next to him said "oh you would know if it's an autoland, it's very unforgiving." The FO going on to say that AL really plants the a/c on the runway. So a -400 fpm AL might not be that far off.
  17. Before the forums at Aerosoft went down there is a fix in a .ini file. If someone could cross post it that would be great.
  18. I love flying into DCA. Probably my favorite is ATL-DCA. Great shots!!!!
  19. Yes. The fact that we can now have SIDs/STARs is huge.
