OPUSFSX : Stay away?

Featured Replies

This thread is full of LOL. God forbid a developer makes a human mistake and says something to bunch up someone's panties. As soon as someone feels a developer has hurt their feelings, they feel a need to start a witch hunt. Dude, just get a refund, call it a day and continue on with your life.

When ToS is violated, that may happen. I just fail to see how it makes this site "look bad". This forum is a great place for customers and developers to converse, joke, query, joust, etc. I think that's what makes this a happenin' place.

Keep in mind I do not moderate this forum, so I defer to those who do.

I have a business and every now and again have difficult customers. When it gets to a point where there is no solution I refund or make it right in some other manner. I would never dream of dressing the customer down no matter how big of a pain they may be. My two cents.

Yes, but I'm sure that your disgruntled customers don't post their displeasure on publicly viewed forums without first contacting you and trying to find a solution.

There is a big difference when you have to defend your livelihood on a public forum.

I just figured out how to use these cameras in Opus and....WOW! This is sooooo much better than EZCA. I LOVE IT  LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!

As a business owner, one is surely prepared for such reactions and especially behaves in a way that is... humble. It's hard to do so sometimes, but it's a must in customer service. This sort of back and forth between customer and developer is always very unfortunate, but I can assure you the best course of action for the business is a simple "sorry for the misunderstanding, here's your solution or money". In this case I'm unsure how I feel about the situation, but something isn't right.

You seem to be very vocal in this particular thread, so perhaps looking at it from both sides is in order. I can surely see both sides of the coin in this thread, but again, I'm just not sure what conclusion to draw.

Did you not just slam a payware developer on a public forum?

Did you not just slam a payware developer on a public forum?

Absolutely NOT!!! Pray tell, I didn't say that EZCA was bad in any way. As a matter of fact I have been perfectly satisfied with it for the last few years.

I'm just more satisfied with Opus. I love the camera setup interface much better. It is very user friendly and intuitive.

That's not saying anything bad about EZCA. Their software works good too, and really is the one that broke ground in realistic head movement and camera views. I appreciate that very much. Especially being an avid user of TrackIR and virtual cockpits.

Opus just works much better for me.

Well my friend, I also am a business owner and I can definitely see both sides.

I would be perfectly polite with a disgruntled customer to a point and until he tries to publicly give my business a black eye over public forums without coming to me first to ask for support for the service I provided.

I've never had that happen, but it seems common in flight sim development.

Alex, I think you have made flight simmers more aware of the Opus weather engine. Dragging your complaint to the Hangar forum has probably been the best advertising they could ask for.

Ain't that the truth?

Hiya Julian ... hope you are sleeping better now that you have moved!

Here they come!

It's actually an enlightening thread if you read closely enough. Relax, enjoy or just move along my friend.

Perhaps you missed the point of the thread? The OP claims to have sought help before going "Hangar Chat". I have no dog in this "fight". It's just your conclusion completely lacks regard for the OP's alleged scenario.

See, this is your opinion. And I have, a very simple opinion that EZCA is working much better. I guess it is just a matter of personal preference, and we should be thankful that we have a choice.

I can't imagine as of right now using cameras from Opus, I won't go into details, but I will say the movement in EZCA via a G13 controller is possible AND awesome, which is right now not possible in Opus. Oh btw. and I got the wrong information about this prior to purchasing... from Opus itself. Did I bother? No... they are working on it. And I can refund if I want. So, what is the big deal?

Alex,

Just wondering, have you disabled visibility option's in REX and/or Active Sky?

From the OP:

Hey guys,

This thread has gone on long enough. I do want to reiterate, that I sort to chat with Stephen and Cheryl directly.

I have to hold my hands up on the tone, [my new logitech k750 doesn't have a caps lock notification which I use to toggle voice on Teamspeak] and UNINSTALLING [from the other post] meant to be 'Uninstalling?'.

My issue here, was not of OpusFSX as a software, it was merely the responses I got. It concerned me and I wanted to make it public just as a voice of protest and concern.

The issue regarding the installation process has been resolved, I have purchased the full licence for further testing.

Nothing more nothing less,

Have a most splendid day chaps.

Alex Ridge
