EZDok landing "bounce"

Featured Replies

I'm using the AoA downloadable NGX Ezdok settings - but even with a pretty soft landing (200fps according to FSPAX) I get a "bounce" visually that takes me quite out of the immersion.

Anyone got any tweaks to help with this, please? I really like the other AoA settings, in terms of runway bumps, turbulence etc - just want to reduce the landing shake.

There are settings within EZCA control panel to finely tune the camera effects in all scenarios. There are also a few good videos on youtube regarding this exact question that will show you what to do. Hope this helps.

There is a section in the bottom right of the DHM effects settings dialog box, that is specifically for setting "Landing Effect" However, i would use the main level adjustment at the bottom left.

By the way, did you mean 200fpm rather than fps?

200fpm is quite a hard landing imo. That is 3.3 feet/1 meter per second. I'd feel that as a quite bumpy landing.

It's not that hard, the undercarriage will easily absorb that impact. It certainly shouldn't be jarring enough to make the EZCA view bounce as described.

I know what you mean, I was getting the same annoying effect on almost every landing I make, it's easily fixed with manually playing with the settings though (RND, DHM, CR). I don't remember what to do exactly but the manuals should help you. Hint : right click the dynamic effects buttons to change settings parameters associated with the effect.

these are my modified NGX EZCA effects if you want to try them.

EDIT : for some reason I cannot attach files, unsupported types, zip doesn't work either, are only TXT files allowed?

I would also like to try your effects Ahmed. I just wanted to make a topic about this very same problem. In the vc it looks like a very hard landing but from the spot view it is quite smooth.

I feel like the general AOA EZDOK NGX settings are far too light.. I increased my settings a little so I get better immersion, Check out my latest video on youtube [departing bergen] for an example.

Thanks for the comments. Glad it's not just me.

Yes, I typo'd - 200 fpm was what I meant (since 200fps would be ummm... 12000fpm!!) I disagree that it's particulary heavy, from what I've read a firm landing is to be preferred... but anyway.

Ahmed, if you could try PM me your setup, that would be appreciated.

Failing that, I'll mess about a bit as has been suggested and see if I can improve the effect.

I would def. be interested in those settings as well I cant seem to find the sweet spot with this thing. I also use the AOA settings and finf them way to lite. When I tinker with them seems like I get shook clear out of the left seat.

I had the same problem with EZCA, and also -200 (-) you're going down not up* is a pretty hard one for me. except for times when there's strong winds, low visibility, or bumpy, in addition short runways. cheers.

Hitting the ground at a descent rate of 200fpm:

The landing gear might absorb it once but don't be surprised if it doesn't. Frankly I don't see how a pilot can maintain either proper airspeed or proper AoA for a landing at that rate.

In any event, i agree that EZdok is a bit too much on the head movement but I am not smart enough to figure out how to adjust all those little dials.
