  1. I don't want to hijack the thread but since we're on the topic of overclocking, I'm currently running my 2600K at 4.7ghz, would you guys recommend going for 4.8? I read somewhere here on the forum that 4.7 to 4.8 makes a big difference (doesn't make sense I know), but may be there's something I don't know about.
  2. Exactly. I doubt that, look at the amount of autogen.
  3. Haha! that made me smile, I'm going to install it in a few minutes
  4. All that talk is making me want install FS9 again, I don't think I can manage without the NGX though..
  5. I really enjoyed watching this, James May is one of my favourite people.
  6. Thank you! I was beginning to think I'm doing something wrong, this is my only major issue with the AXE, hand flying on approach is rendered extremely unrealistic for me because of the very weak and vague roll rate controls, I hope it's fixed now.
  7. His MS Flight Simulator X profile is missing as shown in the screenshots.
  8. I also agree with the OP, it looks phenomenal at night.
  9. I agree with the OP, however that's a personal thing. Like Oliver said every simmer is different, think about it this way, I spend 99% of my flying in the cockpit view, but I still prefer a well modeled exterior to a poorly modeled one, I shouldn't care but it does enhance your perception of the real world model into the sim, and this adds to realism even if you only notice it couple of times in all your simming hours.
  10. There was a similar tool long ago for FS9, it was fun actually. it even added the logo overlay to the photos.
  11. Post the download link as soon as it's done! Excellent work.
  12. True but it's interesting we both have better smoothness with unlimited FPS contrary to most recommendations, with V-sync off I can feel the performance is a bit better but the tearing can get very ugly.
  13. I've now added 'force vsync' in NI and there was no significant drop in frame rates, unlimited FPS. is there a difference between setting vsync in fsx.cfg and in NI performance wise?
  14. Also if you just look at the OP, there was no moaning or nagging involved, he wasn't slagging PMDG off in any way, just an observation, an informative one, I didn't notice this before and it won't affect the way I look at the NGX but as I said it's good to know. they said they're gonna work on some of the cockpit geometrical dimensions in SP2 so that's also something to look for.
  15. "We're planning to revisit this in the NGX as well for SP2, so don't be surprised if the dimensions change a bit there too - it will be quite a noticeable change for people used to the view you get currently in SP1c." - Ryan Maziarz
  16. That's actually my current setting, no vsync, no fps limiter, FSX is running very fluid. (DX9)
  17. Hello Wulf, For me that is only the case when the internal FSX fps limiter is used, when set to unlimited (and 1/2 refresh rate in NI) the performance is excellent, I've tried several combinations of settings and it's always the same, so I always set it to unlimited in FSX, yet most people recommend using the internal limiter. I tried DX10 but I didn't really see the point, performance with high IQ was about the same as DX9 or even worse.
  18. Actually I'm running DX9 forgot to mention that. limited frames inside FSX kills my performance.
  19. Haha! good find. honestly guys it was just a simple (and technically correct) observation, why are you guys giving him a hard time?
  20. Same here, I've always wondered why it's recommended to limit FPS to 30 in FSX. on my system at least doing so brings the frame rates down to 18 ~ 19 FPS.
  21. Exactly. This is a good time for FSX.
  22. I'm curious, do you guys think that PMDG would go back to the drawing board for the T7's FDE now that this has been released? are they doing something similar?
  23. I kept wondering what type of person would do this!
  24. I'm sorry but this isn't really a wise choice of hardware, the good news is once you upgrade to a better CPU you'll have a killer machine!
