November 9, 201213 yr This issue is I'm already registered to the Flight Sim Store where my account resides -- they have made Rex Essential Plus available for download on my account there, but not OD. So I just find that kind of funny. Hi maybe i can shed some light to your question the reason for the o/d isnt on your account is because its an patch if you can call that, remember how the rex2 went to rex2 to o/d that you went to their forum and downloaded the patch to update to the o/d that same deal here. The main version if you like is already been updated to your account being rexe plus where you can download it and than go to the forum and update to o/d if thats what you want. November 9, 201213 yr Or in other words: Overdrive is a not mandatory but optional addition. It's not something you can buy on its own so it's not in the store: usually a store only has things you can buy. It's a freebie and usually freebies are offerend on the site or forum of the developer. Take Orbx for example: they have lots of freeware addon airports and utilities and other freebies but they can only be found on their site and not in the store. The same goes for patches and updates. It's quite normal, really. ^_^ Now if FSS would sell REX Essentials Plus Overdrive THEN it would be odd and kind of funny if they didn't offer the download! But as you can probably see, FSS doesn't even mention Overdrive.

So I just find that kind of funny. Fss apparently is only storing the original rex, I guess that is their contract. That they require the verification is perfectly valid as the OD should not be freely available for public, although there will always be morons who will upload it to the bay. November 9, 201213 yr I am having issues with REX-E Plus... For some reason, the menu of textures is blank when I install the OD.
November 9, 201213 yr Author I saw a few guys running into trouble because they've pointed the upgrade to the wrong folder. Could that be the case, Ben? It has to be the folder where REX already resides, not the generic programs\whatever thingy.
November 9, 201213 yr yea and another problem is not running rexe as admin get people into trouble as well Ben try deleting the o/d by going to your control panel and re install again making sure you point to the folder rexe not the drive where you have rexe installed I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
November 9, 201213 yr I got the REXE+ full install. It runs great and looks great. I really like it. Remember to "run as administrator." Lose not thine airspeed, lest the ground rise up and smite thee.
November 9, 201213 yr Still about as clear as mud...who's site do I go to ? FSS or REX or both? The FSS site does'nt show the OD portion? What flow chart? You can find the flow chart here: http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums/index.php?/topic/21608-rex-essential-plus-and-overdrive-announcement/ There was initially a direct link to it on the main page. To get to the DL's themselves, click on the links in the banner (the one titled "They have arrived") from the forum after you've registered and been verified. Or, you can go to FSS and DL a full install of REXEP via your account there if you prefer. Uninstall and re-install. As with the previous version, OD is not for sale as such and is only available directly. Like the other writer I purchase my software from FSS and that's it. I don't join or sign up to individual developer web sites when I make my software purchases. That's your prerogative, of course. But the developer's support forum is where they do, well... support, as well as announcements and updates and all of that. If you have questions or want to discuss issues with their product or find out about new releases and features, that's where the answers will be. If you don't at least sign up, you're going to miss some things. Hope you get things squared away. Scott

November 9, 201213 yr I have it installed on my D drive, in a custom folder where all FSX additionals reside. All are out of Program Files folder. Morten, it is not only the missing wind alofts, it's an inability to input any kind of flight planing and completely irrealistic fuel planing and burn. My suggestion to any NGX or airliner flier, stay with AS or REX (which I yet have to really try out in longer flights). Yup, thanks, I got AS2012 today, just in time to read Damians post about a big update REXE+ is dl'ed and ready, I am going to do some testing with both WX'es on some max length hauls with the NGX to see how they impact on fuel planning accuracy. I also have Opus and when their 2.40 version launches it I am curious how far they have come. Stephen mentioned a new Vatsim/Ivao function in Opus 2.40. I am a bit confused. Is there discrepancies between RT wx and online servers? REX and AS compiles data on their own servers and distributes? How does this comply with vatsim / ivao wx?
November 9, 201213 yr Yaay, am I the first? Coolio ;-) Nope, got it a little while ago. Downloads just fine, extraction without problems. Go get it guys. Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
November 10, 201213 yr I am a bit confused. Is there discrepancies between RT wx and online servers? REX and AS compiles data on their own servers and distributes? How does this comply with vatsim / ivao wx? To my understanding, the data is pulled either off VATSIM/IVAO or NOAA, then compiled on the server and then distributed to the users. Opus currently is only pulling the data directly from NOAA, this is why it's so fast. But they most likely can't keep it like that, and own servers have been discussed at Opus I believe, so they will have to, like both other engines and will most likely be delayed like the other too. Time will tell though what they manage.
November 10, 201213 yr It would be useful if any of the download links worked Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
November 10, 201213 yr Author I think you have to be more specific, Christopher. Which links don't work? Not to be taken too seriously. But this reminds me of my mother reporting that 'the Internet is down'. ^_^
