Boeing 767?

Sorry, I believe you misunderstood me. I was poking fun. Thought I'd included a LOL, but apparently I didn't.

What's the use of including a LOL if it's only eye candy? LMAO

Maybe she meant that Boeing owns Douglas through the merger with McDonnell Douglas.

Yes I did, and I'm a guy thank you. :P

Best regards,

Robin.

Having a weather radar argument on a PMDG board is new and exciting and will change their minds.

Thanks for that. That made my morning/afternoon.

Now THAT really was funny! Thanks for that!

Yeah, we all take things too seriously from time to time. The fact that his user name is MD11 would seem to indicate that he he at least leans towards being a fellow "purist" when it comes to flight simulation. Lord knows we purists (even part way purists like me) are more than a little prone to taking things too seriously now and again.

Every single member of our community is valuable, and so is everyone's opinions (even on weather radar). For instance, enough people keep asking and talking about it, and the next thing you know someone thinks it's worthwhile to develop it correctly. It's just shortsighted (and self destructive) to shut down someone's opinion, likes or dislikes. Better to forward them to a previous post or tell them it's not currently modeled correctly.

Bottom line is that EVERY MEMBER of our community is important, and new members are worth their weight in gold because the larger the market, the greater the possibility that large software and hardware developers will be interested in jumping in. The larger the market, the greater the competition, and the larger the sales/competition the lower the prices should be.

For instance, there is absolutely NO REASON that a 737 Overhead Panel should cost more than $250-$300 retail, a desktop based throttle quadrant more than $150, an MCP more than $200, or a pedestal based throttle quadrant more than $350 (all plus or minus 15%). It's all about market share, demand and economy of scale.

We're getting there, thanks to Tom, Rob, James, Geoff, all those who worked their tales off to build organizations in an attempt to bring people together, and countless freeware and payware developers who have been stalwarts of our community. When you stop and think of the the talent we have, I'd bet that we're far stronger than most other hobbies.

By the way, anyone who doesn't understand how this is germane to the comment trail, well, it really is.

That is the first time that I've seen Robin used as a guy's name. Sorry about that.

"PHX" means I live in the hellhole I like to call Phoenix. "MD-11" would mean that the MD-11 is one of my favorite aircraft.

I'm not a hardcore purist though. I just think that if a developer can design something functional (even if it doesn't work 100%), it should be included. If it's something that says there is a tunderstorm 30 miles in front of you and there is not a cloud in the sky, for example, it shouldn't be included (or there should be an on/off switch). If that makes sense.

PMDG has said multiple times the they are NOT going to do a 767.

Things change, PMDG has a relationship with Boeing, so with all the access they have why wouldn't they do a 757/767.It may not be any time soon, But they are probably going to be on this Boeing kick for awhile, there are only so many planes to do, they have to keep making money. I doubt five years from now leveld would be upset if they did a 767, and I doubt there 757 will be out :)

Not to continue beating a dead horse, but Robin from Batman is also another really obvious one that even I forgot.

To add to the topic:

Eventually, PMDG may create a B757 or B767, but that can be said of a lot of things that won't happen any time soon. My guess is that focus will be placed on newer, yet-to-be-modeled aircraft such as the modern Airbus series or regional jets. I would personally appreciate having a top-quality very light jet (VLJ) as one of PMDG's "secondary" products.

Plus, some people might be interested in developing newer aircraft such as the A350 and B787, and even newer ones as they are released. All of this might push back potential development of the B757 and B767. Plus there is the idea of expansion into other FSX fields such as utilities. People are already beginning to think about the future of FSX, and I wouldn't be surprised if, given the fact that Microsoft continues showing no interest in the flight simulation market after a few more years, certain developers begin implementing their own features and utilities into the flight simulation base platform.

Is that where the crazy sheriff and tent city/jail in the dessert is? If so, the reference to Robinhood is SERIOUSLY FUNNY! It was pretty funny on it's own though! Certainly gave me a chuckle.

MD-11 is pretty nice. But LOVE the Leonardo MD-82/88.

Gotta run. This one turned out to be a lot of fun, my thanks to everyone for that! Nice to know we can joke around without anyone taking it seriously. Cheers for that!

OH. just noticed that a few people are STILL taking about MC and Boeing. The nerve! LOL

I read a topic from around 2008 - someone saying extremely confidently that PMDG will never do a 777,767 or 757. Ryan responded with "We never said we wouldn't do any of them". I don't know what happened to LDS's 75 but if they don't do anything with it then I could see PMDG jumping on it in the next couple of years.

Anyway - there's still four separate products to come, plus expansions for the NGX, 777, maybe Freighter 744 & 748 if they're not on the initial release.

"Robin" is generally the masculine spelling, whilst "Robyn" is generally the feminine version, though there is a female actress with the "Robin" version of the spelling.

EDIT: Hmmm - depends where you come from.

Best regards,

Robin.
