Boeing 767?

Featured Replies

I remember a post from Ryan or someone a while back that stated that PMDG would avoid doing a 757/767 out of deference to the Level-D developers, whom they consider friends. Probably for that reason, along with the fact that they have had much bigger fish to fry between the 777, 747X v2, 737 NG variants, DC-6, and who knows what else, they will not be doing a 767 or 757.

'Tis a shame, really - would love to see a PMDG-style treatment of the 767 and 757. The Level-D 767 is great, but a bit long in the tooth, and who knows when if ever they will finally unveil their 757. These birds are entering their twilight years, sure, but they will continue to be a fixture in the skies for at least another 10 years if not more.

We've certainly made non-Boeing aircraft:

J41 = BAe

MD-11 = McDonnell-Douglas

DC-6 = Douglas

That said, we have no plans aside from what's announced - that's 777, DC-6, and 747-400/-8 2.0. The chance we're going to make a 757/767 is slim to none.

Ryan,

So is there a chance for a CRJ-200?

Boy, it sure does seem there's a ton of interest in a HQ 757. Its a shame no ones interested in satisfying the obvious demand.

I'll take a full fidelity 757 anytime. I don't care if they're all retired when it comes.

Hopefully Level-D will come through, ...although I must admit I've all but given up on them since its been years :lazy:

If PMDG get into doing classic aircraft, a 727 would be very nice!

Weather Radar

What's the use of a radar that is only eye candy in FSX? If the weather engine was realistic, then I'd like to see it.

What's the use of pressurization systems that are only eye-candy, or air conditioning, or the ping from the seat belt switch or... or.... or.... I think you get the point.

It's about IMMERSION. It may be fake (hell - the whole sim is fake), but it can be done in a way that is BELIEVABLE in the context of the sim that we have.

NO weather RADAR is less realistic than one that appears to do something.

If you're going to use the realism argument, then I ask why bother with any of it at all?

Best regards,

Robin.

Having a weather radar argument on a PMDG board is new and exciting and will change their minds.

DC-6 - Boeing?

:fool: DC-6 is made by Douglas... How you didn't know that is far beyond me. I thought the "DC" would've given it all away...

Interesting first post—most people start out with a question, not a challenge to another somewhat senior member!

By the way, are you serious about not using the autopilot?

How you didn't know that is far beyond me.

Maybe she meant that Boeing owns Douglas through the merger with McDonnell Douglas.

Not trying to start an argument. If it can work like the real thing, include it.

If FedEx, KLM, World, UPS or whoever breaks something on their MD11 today, They will go to Boeing for a replacement. (Replacement part, not replacement MD11 ;) )

If they went to McDonnell Douglas, They'd have to go back in time.

Sorry, I believe you misunderstood me. I was poking fun. Thought I'd included a LOL, but apparently I didn't.
