November 18, 201213 yr Commercial Member Thing is that due to PMDG toiling with us that people don't have a clue when the V2 will be arriving, means I'm stuck between thinking it could be round the corner to a year away. The bigger issue is how people think differently on the release schedule as some say it will be months after the T7 with others saying it will be almost straight away. I'm gagging to fly a complex 747 but I also don't want to buy the 747X and then a dew days later look like a fool when PMDG release the V2. Just be patient Alex Ridge Join Fswakevortex here! November 18, 201213 yr Just be patient Is there any decent freeware 744's out there to keep me entertained?
November 18, 201213 yr As an aside to the posters saying we could have the 777 next month, Rob and the team said they will not be doing a silent release for the 777 - that we will all know ahead of time when the bird will arrive in our hangars. I'm not saying they won't change their minds and release it, I'm simply repeating what the team said earlier in the year: That we would have a very good heads up on a release timeline. That said, the PMDG 744 V1 is an amazing plane, but if your desire is to fly long-hauls, buy the MD-11 and hold out for the 744 V2. The V1 Bird shows its age - it's very much on par with the PMDG 737 V1, so you could understand why someone would suggest you hold out. The MD-11 is an amazing high-fidelity aircraft that, honestly, might be more fun to fly than the 744 itself. Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.
November 19, 201213 yr The 777 as of what will know should be released this or next month. There is nothing that points to Nov/Dec as a final release date for the 777. Not sure where you're getting your info but any estimates outside of PMDG are pure speculation. AJ Pongress
November 19, 201213 yr Not sure where you're getting your info but any estimates I think there was an update on here or in the Munich conference video that said that they were aiming for late 2012. Now, of course everything is speculation. Nothing wrong with that (other than stirring the pot or getting people mad) in my opinion... Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"

Exactly what Kenny said- they said they do anticipate on releasing it this year. As far as we know; that hasn't changed! Yeah they say they'll let us know long before it releases etc- but if they were going to give us a little as a week or days notice; they're not exactly going to tell us now that they're going to do that ha. They're obviously gathering attention for the 777's release via Social Media by uploading weekly photos to Facebook that we've not even seen.. As you say- it's one big speculation. Those are just my thoughts(-: - Luke Pabari

November 19, 201213 yr 767 then it's got to be the 300/ER. But doesn't the 764 share LCDs with the 777? Last I cheked, the 777 and 762/763 really don't have anything in common with that layout. Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"

I'm not sure exactly what similarities it shares; but it's literally 50/50 77/76! Plus sorry I meant if PMDG did a 767 at all - I'd prefer the 300 over 400. - Luke Pabari
November 19, 201213 yr The 777 as of what will know should be released this or next month. I bet they've done a lot more on the 747 than we think. 777 is a perfect example of what they can do in a fairly short amount of time. It's the second time today I see people stating the plane is gonna be released soon and I seem to have missed the info. Where does this come from ? Nicolas Dumats

November 19, 201213 yr Why are we even talking about the 767? PMDG is 100% making the 777...not sure why people are suggesting they're not. And they've stated multiple, multiple times they're not doing any 767/757 due to Level-D. Thread is getting off track... AJ Pongress
