Ok fellas, I know this is regarded as a great aircraft and to the most part I agree, but the VC sucks... surely? Or is it me? Am I missing something? Are there some texture settings somewhere? Some of the instruments are so lo res that they're almost impossible to read...

this is a wild guess.in your FSX.CFG is your max texture res set to 4096.

it could have defaulted to 1024.i read somewhere(think PMDG)that the vc textures will suffer if not set to 4096.

Don't own the 146 so also just could be low res vc textures.

Lol yeah that looks terrible. It's just a config problem I think.

 

It looks clear on mine.

 

I have 4096 set, plus external anti aliasing 8x

Everything looks a little off. The last time I saw something like that I was experimenting with various anti-aliasing and filtering settings.

Definitely something amiss. The VC is one of the best out there right now. Perhaps a reinstall?

Your end again mate, your fsx seems a bit XXXX up with your other problems.

 

Try a clean config, I make a new one every month no big deal at all.

Most probably MAX_TEXTURE related, but perhaps also a missing "Anisotropic=1" line in the [Display.card] entry.

I have to say, the PFD is still small in this aircraft and can be hard to read, but that's how it is in real life. It's more of an 'interim' glass cockpit, rather than the likes of the NG with a lot more glass real estate. :smile:

Sure, I agree about the displays, unlike the NGX where you never need to pop open a display, the PFD and ND are perfectly readable...

They are small. My only complaint. But nothing to do about it save making them unrealisticly large.
