November 22, 201213 yr With the release of England, are there any rumors about what will be Orbx's next major scenery project? I suspect the answer may be no? ps:Am very excited about their next aiport project, being Felts Airport in Spokane.
November 22, 201213 yr Actually, ORBX is pretty open about their current work. They even have a roadmap which so far has been spot on. The major ones upcoming are: FTX Northern California Region (NA-NCA) FTX South Alaska Region (NA-SAK) I believe the rest of UK is coming as well (Scotland, Wales, etc) There are also a bunch of airports annouced for each region which are also listed. A lot of them are already out (the roadmap was announced in May) so it's safe to assume the other ones are too. If you want to know specifically the next one, I'm not sure. Definietly check out the ORBX forum as they're always releasing preview shots.

The major ones upcoming are: FTX Northern California Region (NA-NCA) FTX South Alaska Region (NA-SAK) I'm not sure I'd say the roadmap has been "spot on", as there have been a few surprises (several airports have happily popped up this year that were never on the 'map!), but it does give a general idea. From some recent postings on the Orbx site, it looks like SAK will be next, rather than NCA. Still looking forward to both. Scott
November 22, 201213 yr I'm now finding it hard to find the time to do all the flying in Orbxland that I would like. And, now with EU England, it opens the door to buy more addons (please don't tell my wife), like the entire UK2000 airport series which can be made or are compatible. November 22, 201213 yr Im hoping for some lovely UK airports, hopefully big enough to get the NGX or JS41 into. Simon Roberts
November 23, 201213 yr Im hoping for some lovely UK airports, hopefully big enough to get the NGX or JS41 into. Why wait? The UK2000 Xtreme ones get very good reviews and they've covered a lot of UK airports already. The few ORBX airports (mainly Oz) didn't get good reviews for framerates as I recall? and in any case they've said they won't be doing them as they're too time consuming. The UK2000 airports have a try before you buy download and are pretty well priced too. BTW The UK2000 VFR airfields also have simpler versions of the Airports included so if you fly all sorts that's a bargain starting point? Geoff Geoff Brown

Geoff Thanks Geoff, but i already own most of the UK2000 airports. But to me they just aren't on par with the likes of Canberra or Cairns. Something like that for the UK woud be beautiful for me. Never had issues with frame rates at 5.2Ghz either Simon Roberts
November 23, 201213 yr Thanks Geoff, but i already own most of the UK2000 airports. Hi Simon... You are referring to the Xtreme versions? Thx, Rob
November 23, 201213 yr Never had issues with frame rates at 5.2Ghz either .....er well I'm sure you don't. The question you need to ask then is how many folk are achieving that? ...probably not many? and as such few developers are likely to build complexity that such processors would cope with. Of course ORBX may completely change tack on airports but at the moment the reviews put UK2000 Xtreme at the top of the list so you can splash the cash elsewhere  . Geoff Brown
November 23, 201213 yr "The few ORBX airports (mainly Oz) didn't get good reviews for framerates as I recall?" if you have a standard high end system for FSX then the only airport you could have frame rate problems is Brisbane and thats only if you fly pmdg and have all of australia installed. the rest are fine I wouldn't recommend ORBX if using a lap top or a lower end system they are now only making smaller country boutique airports now from what I understand as there is no one else tackling that area ZORAN
November 23, 201213 yr How about they make scenery for X-plane as well? Would love to fly ORBX scenery with no popping. i9 9900k - 32 gb RAM @ 3200mhz - 2070 RTX 8gb
November 23, 201213 yr Hi Simon... You are referring to the Xtreme versions? Thx, Rob Yes Rob i am, I think they are great i really do Just when you look at YBBN with people flow etc its just such an atmospheric and great looking scenery. Simon Roberts
November 25, 201213 yr I think they were going to tackle the eastern side of th US as well. They said Northern California early next year. Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering

YBBN is a handful. I've got it pretty close to as smooth as possible. I get great frames mainly with NGX, T-Duke, Lancair Legacy and all the ORBX Airports, Scenery etc. I only run my system at 3.9GHZ. Never had an issue. Jas Jaseman. Lovin it up here........ November 26, 201213 yr What processor are you using? I have my 2500k clocked to 3.7 ghz and was wondering if it was worth OC 100 to 200 MHz more. Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
