Best motion & sound effects add-on?

I was a big EZCA fan until I found out that it throws errors about 5 times a minute in Windows 8. Fortunately I discovered OPUS FSX which is a laudable replacement for EZDOK and has an awesome Wx engine (the best IMO) I still will get AccuFeel at some point also for planes that don't have native effects like the RA Lancair. Cheers jja

I also installed two bass shakers under each seat with tactile transducers (small pucks) under the pedals and yokes. A 220amp drives it through the audio card.

Startup feels incredibly realistic and taxi bumps with Runway Bumping Effect just tops it off! Highly reccommended!

Feeling and hearing flaps, wind and gear bumps make it 90% there! Only thing left would be "motion"!

Btw...2 CFI's from the local (Toronto) Flight school who have flown in my 2 seat sim have said that the 3 static simulators at the school "don't hold a candle to your sim"lol!

(see YouTube above)

I have one uder the seat, never thought adding one to the yoke...agreed though, its awesome.

For $15 it's well worth giving a try. I didn't like the effect on the first aircraft I was flying with it and turned it off, but since then I've used it on every aircraft.

Thank you, yes I will go for it at that price :O)

Well, went for Accu-Feel. I most often fly the QW757, and I tried just using default settings in AF for this plane. Beyond a recurrent brake squeak as I was braking after landing that didn't sound particularly realistic, I noticed the wheel screech at touchdown was quite well done. Beyond those two things I couldn't tell a difference. Have you found it requires much adjustment on a per plane basis? I guess I was expecting a little more than just those two effects. Perhaps I'm flying too steady?! I have the REALISM settings in FSX set per their recommendation.

I just use the defaults, then tweak if there's something that needs it. For example, the brakes on a large plane should make a groan, not a squeak, and you can lower the volume on that if you wish.

Also, there's a version 1.1 that's not included in the base package. This might fix the brake sounds.

Thanks will f/u on the enhancement. Truth be told, I've only taken one flight in one plane w/ no tweaks, so there should be more to look forward to ;o)

Like I posted above, I didn't care for the effect on the aircraft I was flying at the time, but have used it on every aircraft since and love it. Some day I may revisit that original aircraft. I was probably using the base version at the time.

One of the things I tweak is "cabin integrity" to lower it as I like to fly older aircraft. You don't expect a DC-3 to have a tight, well sealed cockpit, for example. :)

They say it in the docs, and it's true: you may find that it breathes new life into all your aircraft, making them seem like new, totally different aircraft (my paraphrase).

I like the Accu-Feel sounds after landing a twin engine like the Beechcraft Baron 58 and opening one of the doors. Try doing the same w/Accu-Feel disabled and there's nothing when you open up the door. So very realistic.

Best regards,

Jim
