December 6, 201213 yr Ok now that the rest of my hangers look like crap! I need some new toys bad. I own all of PMDG's aircraft for FSX. I love them gotta have more of them! Christmas is almost here. I fly for a living so simming just helps get me over the need to when I can't! I fly a Cessna 750 in real life, for my fathers company and have to say putting skid marks on the sound barrier is fun. I flew in the US Navy for twenty years and now I drive a fast little jet just for the fun of doing it. I have one request of you fine folks at PMDG. ENOUGH with the dang finger prints!!!!!! I can't stand them, keep cleaner in my bag for it, and have threatened to break more than one first officers fingers for touching my glass! My poor brother broke his hand after hitting the wall in the office, after the thanksgiving get together, and my first officer thought he came up front and touched my glass! So we have a ritual now, during preflight I clean my side and pass the cleaner 2.5 feet to my right so she can clean her side. Now we see eye to eye and have no problems. Cockpits are small tight quarters and you better like who you spend all that time with, or it will make for a long day. Come on with the come on boys turn em loose. WE NEED NEW TOYS! Nuff said. Capt. McGIll, R. J. USN retired "Woogie" Best Regards, Robert J McGill
December 6, 201213 yr What did you exactly plan to achieve by posting this topic? - Luke Pabari
December 6, 201213 yr Think I need a few more beers to decode this one. Shots shots shots shots shots, shots shots shots shots shots shots shots...since we're all dying in a couple of weeks - is it YOLO? :LMAO: :LMAO: - Luke Pabari
December 6, 201213 yr What did you exactly plan to achieve by posting this topic? I think that he is complaining that the developers include all the dust and finger prints. I for one agree with him. I can't stand people that touch screens and leave finger prints. Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"
December 6, 201213 yr He wants clean glass instead of simulated finger prints in pmdg textures, I agree, there should be an option to clean the glass. OP, buy yourself something from A2A with the accufeel upgrade, that should challenge you. Happy flying. Regards; Fritz
December 6, 201213 yr I got the part about the clean glass, and also understand he wants PMDG to release new aircraft yesterday. Sincerely, Chase My 2017 Build: Liquid Cooled i7 7700K CPU idle @ 4.2GHz | MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X 8G | 16GB's DDR4 4000 RAM | ASUS 27" 144hz Gaming Monitor | MSI Z270 M7 Motherboard | Windows 10 | Samsung 960 EVO M.2 500GB SSD
December 6, 201213 yr I for one agree with him. I can't stand people that touch screens and leave finger prints. Pet peeve here too... as an pilot / instructor one way to get my shorts bunched up was to see someone's grubby finger leftovers and/or bug guts on the windscreen. Kept cleaner in my flightbag too. In a flight sim... what to do except suck it up? @ Capt. McGill -- 'Hand_Salute' and would say "Semper Fi Hardcharger" but I guess "Non sibi sed patriae" is more appropriate. Rob O.
December 6, 201213 yr Shots shots shots shots shots, shots shots shots shots shots shots shots...since we're all dying in a couple of weeks - is it YOLO? :LMAO: :LMAO: LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! :LMAO:
December 6, 201213 yr Commercial Member ENOUGH with the dang finger prints!!!!!! For what it's worth, a video from the Sim Conference in MUC had Robert mentioning something about it, and how it bugged him. He made it seem like it would at least be toned down. ...or at least that's what I took from the comments. I could be wrong. Kyle Rodgers
December 6, 201213 yr Author SALUTE to all. "Not for self, but for country" and in Latin "Non sibi sed patriae" Not many people who are not Navy are even aware of why that saying is ingraved on the chapel doors at the acadamy. Awesome history lesson. No aim here other than to voice an oppinion and thank these fine folks for some awesome aircraft. Some moreso than others. With little ears roaming the halls of my home, and a daughter that is the only individual that may get away with hitting me, that saying is famous in the McGill den. In fact it has it own plaque. Had one made just to drive my mother in law crazy. She still has no idea what it means. Laughs on her. Wifey wants it down, My den, my rules get out! Nuff said Cpt out. Best Regards, Robert J McGill
December 6, 201213 yr Im the same way, its drives me up the wall, there is no need to ever touch the glass be it on a display or the windshield of a car, so why do people touch it??? Lol
December 6, 201213 yr I guess we all like to show off sometimes, and there's some huge ego waving going on there! Anyway, for what it's worth I absolutely love the finger smudge marks on the glass, it adds to ambience and realism and is one of those aspects that stop a bunch of digitized pixels feeling sterile - giving the illusion that we're sitting in a real cockpit. PMDG got it perfectly right.
December 6, 201213 yr Commercial Member there is no need to ever touch the glass be it on a display or the windshield of a car, so why do people touch it??? Yeah, I have no idea. My monitor is spotless. I'll point at things, but I've never had to put my finger on the screen for people to see what I'm pointing at. Just people being careless and mindless in my opinion. Same goes for people who camp in the left lane going exactly the speed limit. Moreover, same goes for the person in the left lane who goes the exact same speed as the person in the right lane, right next to him or her. ...or the person who never announces on CTAF ...or the person who chooses to land on the opposite end of the runway because it's closer (despite everyone else using the wind-favored side) It's all people simply being mindless of their effects on others.
