I can't believe this thread is still going at this rate.   Register your controls with FSUIPC, Disable your joystick in FSX menu = 100% reliable joystick availability.

Well, in my case fsuipc doesn't even recognise joystick inputs in Windows 8.   Wysłane z mojego GT-I9100

FSX has been running for 6hours + and still haven't lost my controller (with a lot of alt-tabbing) I hope the disabling sleep mode is the trick. Cheers jja

So it didn't work?

Mehmet Yatan

LOL yes it seems to have. Not sure why the post was lined out. :) Cheers jja

Which USBs did you do this with? I have tried all of them and its still happening, In fact, sometimes when the flight is loading, if i alt tab and alt tab back, the joystick wont work even 2 minutes into the flight.

I did all 6 of my USB controllers. 2 are USB 2.0 and I use one of these for my joystick because I also heard that there could be issues if you plug a non-USB 3.0 joystick into a USB 3.0 port. Still no definitive answer to this problem IMO. Cheers jja

Have to wait for SP1 of Windows 8 or else Windows 9

That's not even funny:( The problem is, Microsoft hasn't even admitted that this is a problem, so we can wait for years without a fix. We need to find a way ourselves and strangely this only happens in FSX for me.

I've been having this problem with windows 7 for the last month or so. I'm wondering if there was a Windows Update to Windows 7 that perhaps is causing the issue. In my case I'll be flying along and I get the usb disconnect sound and my joysticks become inactive. If I enter FSUIPC and exit the joysticks are reset.

This thread was started at about the time that I started having problems. I'm going to go through the updates for October and see what I can find.

Yes I had this same issue in Win 7 so it is not just Win 8. I suspect that Windows is either sleeping the port or some driver incompatibility. Next time it happens I'll check the event log for clues.

Cheers

I solved the problem by going back to Windows 7-64. Win 8 is nice but not ready for prime time, IMHO.

I was seriously considering throwing away $150 and going back to windows 7 until I saw that this issue may happen in windows 7 as well. I am really depressed to be honest, I cannot fly in VATSIM because of this, I just cannot complete a flight without doing alt+tab. Someone please come up with a solution!:(

It's not meant to be funny at all.

It's an M$ problem and they won't admit to it.

I 100% agree.

Unfortunately, all we can do is come out with workarounds, but the fix unfortunately, lies in the hands of Microsoft
