December 31, 201213 yr The key to fix this problem is turning UAC off completely using regedit. When you do that, the USB power off settings in control panel actually do work and joystick works. Mehmet Yatan
December 31, 201213 yr EDIT : I spoke too soon. While it took a lot longer than it did before, it still happened. Mehmet Yatan
December 31, 201213 yr I have already tried that millions of times, this has nothing to do with the driver. Its completely operating system related at the USB level. Interesting question is, there are many USB devices that is used in FSX, TrackIR, keyboard, mouse, how come none of those disconnect? Mehmet Yatan
December 31, 201213 yr I've tried the whole USB power thing to no avail. This seems to be a fairly recent thing with windows 7. There must have bee some kind of update that is causing this. I.e. microsoft saying,"boy we've really improved the joystick interface with windows 8, let's fix Windows 7." My problem is that I've done a fresh install of Windows 7 so all of my updates were done at the same time. I can't tell which are the ones that occurred in October. It would be interesting to uninstall all of the updates from that time period to see what happens. Steve Giblin
December 31, 201213 yr I saw on a gaming forum that some people are having luck fixing this problem by placing a copy of the Win7 version of DINPUT8.DLL (found in the WIndows\system32 directory) in the program (in this case FSX) folder. I do NOT recommend you replace the Win8 version located in Windows\system32 and/or WIndows\sysWOW64 with the older version. I don't have (and don't plan on EVER having) Win8, so I can't test it here. But here's to hoping it works... :drinks: Cheers Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case

December 31, 201213 yr Commercial Member Could be related to Directx 9. I'm using mostly DX10 preview mode these days with good luck. Well report any issues. Also, EZCA seems to have fits with WIN 8 (application errors logged frequently) and could be a related problem. Cheers jja Jim Allen[email protected]SkyPilot Software home of FSXAssist / P3DAssist
December 31, 201213 yr It has nothing to do with DirectX version, both 9 and 10 produce the same error. Mehmet Yatan
January 1, 201313 yr Author When I first went to Windows 8, I was on an Intel core 2 duo/Nvidia graphics setup. I ran it for a few months without ZERO problems with the joystick. I built my new rig which is an AMD CPU/ AMD Graphics, and it went smooth for a few weeks then SUDDENLY it started getting disconnects every flight. Particularly on approach right before landing. I was using EZCA utility the whole time on my AMD rig. Hopefully this can narrow it down some.
