December 9, 201213 yr I bought Prepar3D a while ago when the Academic license was just released. I thought, I could just buy it now and update to 2.0 when it's released. It said that all updates will be free when I purchased Prepar3d, so I don't see why I should repurchase the product when 2.0 is released. Still I see people on the web thinking it will be a completely new version. Why do they think that if all updates are free?
December 9, 201213 yr All version 1.x updates will be free. Once they go to version 2.x, it requires a new purchase. They've been saying that for as long as I've been watching P3D. It's like FS9 and FSX. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

December 9, 201213 yr Is there any estimate on when 2.0 will be released? Will it be like a year? Or less? That's the question on everyone's mind. I'd like to know myself. Far as I know, there haven't been any hints. Maybe someone has more up to date information. You didn't make a mistake by purchasing version 1.4 in any case. You're getting to fly in P3D right now, while I'm waiting for 2.0 to be released and still flying FSX. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! December 9, 201213 yr There are only predictions on release date. Nothing real. I thought that they said 2013 or something? Or am I mistaken?
December 9, 201213 yr 2013 was from LM representative. I don't remember if it was in some interview or on their forums, but 2013 is fact. Whether that means 1/1/2013 or 12/31/2013 or somewhere in between, no one knows :lol:
December 9, 201213 yr What will be far more interesting and significant, is when Version 2.1 will get released.
December 9, 201213 yr Whatever happened to 1.5 or 1.7. Why is it assumed its version 2. Was it said they would jump to version 2? CYVR LSZH I7-14700k 64gb 6000Mhz DDR5 ASUS z690 ROG STRIX Gaming RTX 4080 Super,

December 10, 201213 yr P3D 2.0 will be 64bit? I'm not sure if i remember well No I'm pretty sure it won't be. I think there was a statemebt to that fact but don't quote me. But if jumping to version 2.0 that would indicate a major overhaul of some kind otherwise they would be 1.x updates. Where is 1.5? December 11, 201213 yr First v2.0 will be like FS11 if it had ever turned up ... we pay for it. Hightowers is correct, LM have said that FSX is completely 32bit and they aren't going to totally rewrite it form square one. Updates come at about 6 monthly intervals so we can expect the next Feb/March of next year. But its a two edge sword ... free, but requiring a folder by folder uninstall of the previous version, and a fresh installation of the upgrade and your miles of add-on scenery and aircraft and weather and traffic..... He doesn't, he says he expect v 1.5 i feb/march unless 2.0 is the next release. P3D has been updated ca twice a year since its release. Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!
