December 9, 201213 yr What a bear! Trying to get all 17 files. Only able to successfully download 10. I'll keep trying but I'm open to any insight into this. Its' the 1st time I tried to use Megascenery Earth. These are the new Pennsylvania files that cover the whole state. Stan
December 10, 201213 yr Use a download manager, if you aren't already. I use one for Firefox called DownThemAll! and it does downloading big, multiple files real nice. Surf the web with a browser, but when downloading use a download manager.
December 10, 201213 yr Commercial Member Best to use a download manager. All MegaSceneryEarth files can be multi-thread downloaded for extra speed, but only if you use a download manager program. One is suggested in the information provided on the same page your download links are given on. Give that a go. December 10, 201213 yr Why on earth is it called Megascenery Earth? Its USA only.... Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
December 10, 201213 yr Author Finally got it all done. One at a time, but it worked. Now that I have it, I'm not sure I like it. There is much realism about it, but the water and other autogen looks flat and unalive. I wonder how many simmers really endorse Megascenery Earth. This is my first experience with it.
December 10, 201213 yr I wonder how many simmers really endorse Megascenery Earth. This is my first experience with it. I like it! Sure, you have to be flying at least 2000 plus feet to see the scenery the best but the airports are still there and, for Maryland (which I have so far), I think the Gaithersburg airport, for one, was improved upon and I could find my son's house and see his cars in his driveway. I don't know if there were any other improvements to airports but it's nice to be able to land at the airports and I found the scenery very accurate from real flights I have done from/to BWI. I think it was also interesting to fly the route from my house to his house I take occasionally through really horrible traffic. I believe it is much better than trying to fly over Google Earth (which you can do too). To buy every State will be costly though and you will need more than a 1TB hard drive. I may get PA and, for sure, Virginia. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! If you are buying the v.2, you may have your graphic settings incorrect, because it is very impressive on my system. The trees and houses look like they are popping out and the rivers and lakes look mucky and green like they really would, and not just cut out and filled in with FSX ocean looking waves. It may not be for everybody, but I love it, I just have to restrain from buying too many or it's going to fill my harddrive. I've got 20mb cable service, so I don't have any problem downloading the files, but using a download manager would be the way to go if you have a slower service. December 10, 201213 yr I personally disabled autogen for MD flying and don't miss it. Like the above said 2000+ looks great here.
December 10, 201213 yr Hi. It seems I have missing files with Massachussets 2.0 (81 files and 4.52 Go). Am I alone ? My mistake ! Rhode Island is missing. Windows 11 | i7-14700KF | DDR5-64Go | RTX-4070 Super | 1440p 32" curved screen | G903
December 10, 201213 yr There is much realism about it, but the water and other autogen looks flat and unalive. I wonder how many simmers really endorse Megascenery Earth. Stan, the new MS Earth titles (unlike the old) don't have autogen - or at least they say they don't. If you're saying that buildings and such look a bit flat then yep, that's one of the down-sides of pure photoscenery. I like it! Sure, you have to be flying at least 2000 plus feet to see the scenery the best but the airports are still there and, for Maryland (which I have so far), I think the Gaithersburg airport, for one, was improved upon and I could find my son's house and see his cars in his driveway. I haven't read much feedback yet on the new Earth titles but Jim, you may have just answered one of the questions I've had about the v2 stuff. One of the biggest weaknesses of the original "Earth" series was the quality of airport integration. Most airports were at best a little bit fouled up, with photo bleeding through runways, taxiways and so forth, and at worst just plain busted with massive misalignment rendering some fields all but unusable. If airports are in good shape that would certainly be good news. Scott
December 10, 201213 yr You have Afcad files with Blue Sky Scenery, not with Megascenery Earth v2. Windows 11 | i7-14700KF | DDR5-64Go | RTX-4070 Super | 1440p 32" curved screen | G903
December 11, 201213 yr You have Afcad files with Blue Sky Scenery, not with Megascenery Earth v2. Hi Edouard, Yes, I'm aware that Blue Sky provides corrected afcad files when needed, but Jim's comment gave me hope that perhaps the new v2 stuff did as well. Sorry to hear that isn't the case. Scott

December 11, 201213 yr What settings are you referring to? Please share. Stan, on your download page there is a link with instructions on setting up your graphics within FSX. December 11, 201213 yr with instructions on setting up your graphics within FSX. I just noticed the graphic resolution settings on the 4th graphic down in that link you furnished shows 16 bit graphics versus 32 bit. I hope everyone is using the 32 bit (which is normal for all modern monitors). The 16 bits might be the best resolution though for the 8400GS card the slide shows.
