December 18, 201213 yr X plane isn't really that bad. No, it's not bad but IMHO is not even close to what FSX (with all its flaws) can give us. Anyway, I was just breaking balls.
December 18, 201213 yr This is exciting news. Hopefully it will be a good enough platform to get the big 3rd party boys on... Phil Mosley - Rotation Films http://youtube.com/rotationfsx @RotationFilms
December 18, 201213 yr Aerofly really does look next gen, it just needs a bit more depth - and a developer community with the right tools could easily do just that. Even in its current form, worth buying imho. Oz Sim Rig: MSI RTX3090 Suprim, an old, partly-melted Intel 9900K @ 5GHz+, Honeycomb Alpha, Thrustmaster TPR Rudder, Warthog HOTAS, Reverb G2, Prosim 737 cockpit. Currently flying: MSFS: PMDG 737-700, Fenix A320, Leonardo MD-82, MIlviz C310, Flysimware C414AW, DC Concorde, Carenado C337. Prepar3d v5: PMDG 737/747/777. December 18, 201213 yr I payed $60.00 before it was on steam and no challenges. Just hope we see that update one of these days.
December 20, 201213 yr At least some hope for a NextGen FlightSimulator. MS failed, Prepar3D will fail also because it`s the same engine, X-Plane is no real competitor. So i put my hope into AeroflyFS and just bit for an unforseeable challenger.
December 20, 201213 yr Just got a small update today to correct some problems. But now I have to reconfigure some of my control inputs all over again. You will see some notable changes for the better.
December 21, 201213 yr Bought the AeroflyFS iPad app for £4.99 yesterday (£5 for some software, incredible price, how on earth do devs make money these days???). I've been quite frankly stunned by this software. Its enormous fun. The interface (on iPad) is very intuitive. The sense of inertia in the F18 is superb, the cockpits and exterior modelling look crisp and detailed (albeit not very functional), the aircraft all sound great too especially if using the software with good qaulity headphones, the Cessna especially sounds very gutsy. Its tremendous fun...and on an iPad 2 it looks incredible, I really can't get my head around it. Must be getting old! This news about a more enhanced desktop sim is very welcome. These guys seem very clever and we really could be looking at the birth of a new franchise. I highly recommend the iPad app just for shear fun and for playing flight sim on the toilet.....sorry too much information??? Cant wait to try that Airbus!
December 23, 201213 yr Just saw this today. I'm extremely excited about its future! Might make me feel better because of FS11 never going to exist. I'd buy it right now to support its development if I weren't short of money.
December 23, 201213 yr It remains to be seen how flexible their scenery engine is. Current Switzerland scenery is just aerial photography with a few 3D trees. To compete with X-Plane it needs to also be able to generate scenery from raw vector data (like X-Plane, FSX etc.), not just drape 2D textures over an elevation mesh. However if it's open and flexible enough, this could be handled by a third party layer. Also it would be cool with an Android version of the app. Modern Android tablets and even smartphones with quad-core 1.5 GHz CPUs and 2GB of RAM are more than capable. -
December 23, 201213 yr To compete with x-plane it needs better cockpit systems functionality. I personally love the scenery - i like it better than x-plane and fsx - though I'd like some more high detail areas.
