January 24, 201313 yr I don't understand how some people are having amazing experiences with CS products(myself included) and others think it's the devil  there is something wrong with most of these replies  Are you guys reading the manuals and learning the plane or are you just loading up the plane and pressing F4 It seems to me that the people who find nothing wrong with CS have no knowledge of in depth systems and operation of the airplanes. So this comment trying to insult people who only bash CS because they "don't read the manuals" is a bit hypocritical to say the least. I wish CS stuck to what they were finally getting the hang of. Analog airplanes like the 727 and 707. A DC-8 would have been nice. Same with a 747 classic.
January 24, 201313 yr Which way exactly CS 757 is better than QW? So far I've found QW to be way cheaper, have amazing soundset (while CS sounds like a vacuum cleaner and the sound is identical with all engine types). Also its flight dynamics remind me from default 737. Based on my general subjective feeling of what it sounds to be inside a 757 that I've got from around 20 757 flights I've always felt that QW got their 757 way more right than CS did. And this isn't CS bashing, actually some months ago when I was celebrating end of a test week with some nice drink I actually bought all their FSX products that I didn't already own (other than the space shuttle). Paypal makes payment process too easy sometimes. For both CS757 and 767 I have custom TSS soundsets that add quite a lot to realism. I modified the flight dynamics for the 757 and now it " feels" way better. Both 757 and 767 are capable of having a DME arc programmed into the FMC and fly it perfectly. Also Eye candy enough. I agree that the CS777 is not a finished product. Few really give a product an objective chance. They just read other bashing posts, and when they have the slightest problem, instead of trouble-shooting their problem, they just add their bashing post to the others. It would take me several hours of flying this 777 to really have a good opinion of what level of quality Captain Sim has put into it. I assume from the beginning that it will be good, and if something goes wrong, that it maybe a setting or problem within my own doing, until I'm sure otherwise. I sure wouldn't be on the Avsim forums bashing the release, within 24 hours of its release. That doesn't make sense. Captain Sim has produced some good to excellent products that haven't been even offered by PMDG, like the 727, 707 and C130. PMDG are, without any doubt, the top of the game, but they are not producing all of the aircraft that I want in my selection. I'm glad we have a choice. Robert Yunque
January 24, 201313 yr I'm reader of a french FS forum and we are starting to give as a personal gift all of our CS key to people how want them... with no success... no one want our garbage Promoting piracy or sharing keys are one and the same. This buffonery has caused this member to be suspended for 90 days. I could just as easily have banned him forever, and would have, had he actually claimed that he had shared his key. Kind regards,
January 24, 201313 yr I sure wouldn't be on the Avsim forums bashing the release, within 24 hours of its release. That really is something of an immature statement. YOU might not be able to ascertain within 24 hrs that the Auto pilot, auto throttle, LNAV, VNAV and considerably more do NOT work as advertised. It took me less than 1 hour to find this out. Promoting piracy or sharing keys are one and the same. This buffonery has caused this member to be suspended for 90 days. I could just as easily have banned him forever, and would have, had he actually claimed that he had shared his key. Kind regards, Indeed - well done Stephen. I may not like what CS have released, but his claims and threats were bizarre to say the least! Also, you had already gone to the Captain Sim forum with the problem and made a support ticket with them before coming to Avsim forums and bashing the product? I think where the immaturity is coming from is obvious to everyone. Robert Yunque
January 24, 201313 yr Ok my turn! LOL I love finally having a 777 better that the Wilco version for 1, I may not fly much VNAV but from what I have heard and read neither do most pilots whats the fun in flying all computer? And most of all if you knew it would be crap stop spending! I have seen most of you member who said you would never buy another CS aircraft go out and spend 40eu while they had a sale last month , to top it off u still bashed an unfininshed product and support PMDG like no tomorrow! I think a new bashers forum should be created for people not satisfied. Nothing is perfect and people need to make a living go spend 500.00 on a Samsung T.V. while LG makes the same for cheaper it Capitalism and its finest. Lastly if u want perfect stop spending and go start flying in the realworld to work up to 777 captain, if to long come up with roughly 258 million!

I think where the immaturity is coming from is obvious to everyone. Oh dear. If we must play this game, then I think you'll find I wasn't and have not 'bashed' Captain Sim' AT ALL. I have all but ONE of their pruducts. If I've "bashed" anyone or anything, then it's 'you' and the product. And the answer to your question is yes. January 24, 201313 yr "I have nearly all the Captain SIm products. I'm not going to bash CS just for the sake of bashing them but, I do agree their products are somewhat sub-standard. Often, when I think about flying a CS I don't bother because I don't want the hassle. Their steam gauge products seem to be better and the CS 777 is a step back in terms of quality IMO. They seem to be going in the wrong direction with this release." And that's something I don't understand. How can you claim that you "have nearly all the Captain Sim products", if you then state that "their steam gauge products seem to be better"? Where's the logic? Stop discussing things you just know by heresay. Captain Sim has three add-ons that have steam gauges, the 727, the 707 and the 737-200, that's about 50% of their latest releases (the other 50% being the 767, 757 and the 777). Correct me if I'm wrong. It would be just like me stating an opinion about PMDG's J41, although I only own the NGX, the MD-11 and the 744. And what's "the wrong direction"? Logically, that would mean that the new version is worse than 0.9. However, the 1.0 is considerably better than the 0.9. It has it's flaws and I hope they will be sorted out. And what's the title of this topic? "CS B777- service pack 1.0 released!" - So to make our time worthwile, you'd talk about the positive and negative points of this new release after doing several flights with it. I would appreciate it. Chris

January 25, 201313 yr One thing that is important to remember also is that 1.0 is NOT a completely finished product. It is a "released" product that will have updates and service packs following, like every other aircraft sim released. This is why, as we find problems, it is very important to get on the Captain Sim forums and let them know about them. I can see that Captain Sim has listened to their customers on their forums. PMDG has made good aircraft sims, but they didn't always either. No doubt, the NGX was a big step forward for them and the T7 will be good also, but the J41 still doesn't really quite work like it is supposed to, but it is still a good sim. Robert Yunque
January 25, 201313 yr For those who are updating from previous versions of the CS777, here is a little tip that will ensure a clean install of SP1.0. 1.Uninstall your previous version via control panel, reboot computer. 2. Go to Start> Run. Type: regedit, click OK. 3. Find the product entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CaptainSim\ (please note, for Windows 64bit versions it is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\CaptainSim\) For example: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CaptainSim\CS777 Make sure you are going to delete correct folder! 4. Delete the product entry folder. 5. Restart your computer. 6. Install the product. After installing service pack 1.0, reboot computer before loading the 777. January 25, 201313 yr I cant install ver 1000.It keeps giving me a "unable to write to captain sim x777.display.gau"during install.
January 25, 201313 yr Question why are you using the autopilot under 10,000 its called flight sim not auto pilot sim if all your gonna do is turn the auto pilot get a screen saver of a t7 flying. I can seem to keep it under 250 under 10,000 by hand flying the jet. I'm sorry, but I can't accept that argument. Most of the time I hand fly almost or up to cruise. Sometimes I engage at 1000. Just depends on the demands and my mood that day. The problem is that the AP is not working correctly. An individual's preference in flying is not an excuse for something not functioning (e.g. you shouldn't be using the AP below 10k anyways). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dana Palmer KJAC
