January 24, 201313 yr This is not even close to accurate Great, continue using it then, i'll keep my 60fps. I'm not even going to argue about this. As for the topic, this 777 just isn't going to do CS any good. While i really enjoy their great C130 767 707 727 and 737 (and that's why i found John Johnson's post funny - they do have good products), i just don't find anything interesting here. It basically fails everywhere it can fail. Overpowered, ignores all possible restrictions, ND route issues, A/C initialization issues, it's all there. It feels like a 737 when hand flown so light it is and climbs like a rocket with 114T of fuel inside. I think i'll keep it in mind as a really great exterior model and very nice virtual cockpit. The rest simply isn't working. I think they should go back to their unfinished planes, finish them off and clean up their name before continuing into new ventures because after this one, not even me who gave them many chances and bought most of their products, is going to buy another of their products. Good luck CS, you're gonna need it :( It looks nice indeed, but it flies like a rock :( CASE: Fractal Terra Silver CPU: AMD R5 7800X3D 5.0Ghz RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 GPU: nVidia RTX 4070 Ti SUPER · SSDs: Samsung 990 PRO 2TB M.2 PCIe · PNY XLR8 CS3040 2TB M.2 PCIe · VIDEO: LG-32GK650F QHD 32" 144Hz FREE/G-SYNC · MISC: Thrustmaster TCA Airbus Joystick + Throttle Quadrant · MSFS2024 · Windows 11
January 24, 201313 yr Is it a PMDG plane? no, but I've always enjoyed captain sim planes for that reason. They a middle ground planes filling the gap between default planes and pmdg. Dont get me wrong I like the NGX but its a bit complex and if you set everything up you don't even hand fly the jet. I enjoy getting in the T7 and loading a fsx fltplan and going for it and not spending 20 min on the ramp trying to program sids and stars. I flew a flight to Geneva from KFLL and she flew great the whold time. Great, continue using it then, i'll keep my 60fps. I'm not even going to argue about this. January 24, 201313 yr I agree that they are pretty powerful planes, and I have been on two myself before. I just don't remember feeling like I was in a rocket like this one seems. I just flew a short hop from Miami to Atlanta and before I had my gear up, I was already about to break the 250 under 10. It was like a fighter jet in the climb. I have noticed with this update slightly higher FPS. Noticeably more system modeling. It still will bog down though. Almost like there is a script running in the background. My trackir will start to skip sync and be 5-10 seconds behind for a minute or so. Happens random. Maybe a debug feature still in there? Also the auto throttle switch is kinda fickle from time to time wanting to work. Also they could work a little more on throttle smoothing. It is still pretty rough in transitions of power. All in all this update fixed and implemented a good bit of stuff. Unfortunately I have grown to like the steam gauge planes they offer more and I think this one will not get a lot of flight time due to lack of excitement over it and overall handling of Her. January 24, 201313 yr One thing CS products lack is smooth gauge tech they are jerky any fixes for that? ATP MEL,CFI,CFII,MEI. Type Ratings B-737, ERJ-190,ERJ-170
January 24, 201313 yr I think that VC shot looks absolutely bland. Ugh. All the textures are washed out. Doesn't really fit with what I remember from the 757 I (unfortunately) own. AJ Pongress

January 24, 201313 yr I just installed vs 1.0 myself and noticed the above as well. What a mess what a mess. Totally agree. Easily the *worst* addon I've ever purchased... Buyer beware....
January 24, 201313 yr Come on guys, did you really expect anything different from Captain Sim? They still haven't even finished the 757 that I own, and now they have another unfinished product to add to their list of "never finishing anything." I would put these guys in the bin with Ariane and Abacus. AJ Pongress
January 24, 201313 yr I still dont see whats so bad about it? What are you guys saying is wrong with it? Its not hard to work around stuff its called hand fly it to cruise alt then hit the HDG hold and go with it then turn the auto pilot off desend and hand fly the approach my dad is a retired united 747-400 captain and thats how he did it in the real thing. I fly to fly the plane no push buttons and watch a computer in my computer have all the fun! ATP MEL,CFI,CFII,MEI. Type Ratings B-737, ERJ-190,ERJ-170
January 24, 201313 yr Beautiful plane. I give the exterior a 10/10. They fixed the differences in the landing gear between ER and LR. Huge step forward in the VC, but still some work needed. Perhaps an 8/10. There is a problem on the VNAV introduced in 1.0, but the rest of the autopilot is perfect. It does seem overpowered compared to the .9 release, but most people are flying it with just 340 pounds of payload (pilots), so it is bound to feel light. Use the ACE. FPS is better than .9 but it does take a hit. I always aim for 30fps (blurry free and stutter free) and I can get that around 5000 feet. At a default airport like Indianapolis I'm getting about 26. Now for Kai Tak . . . I'm glad we are this far, and CS clearly said 1.0 is just the end of the beginning. Now to hammer out some of VC, instrument and FDE details. However, this plane is perfectly flyable now so it's time to start flying! Ben
January 24, 201313 yr Commercial Member I think that VC shot looks absolutely bland. Ugh. All the textures are washed out. Doesn't really fit with what I remember from the 757 I (unfortunately) own. I agree, personally I have never liked cockpits of modern jets made by CS, steam gauge ones look pretty nice though.
January 24, 201313 yr Honestly this plane isn't bad... its not the most advanced software out there but its good. it serves its purpose. Most people complaining about the FPS should realize that captain sim quadrupled the resolution of the textures so they have a higher quality, this obviously affects performance and there is a fix for it if you dont like this. To everyone else calling this plane crap, you guys are ridiculous. NOT EVERYONE IS PMDG. You all have to realize this, not everyone makes things like PMDG and does this and that and that... you get the point CS is NOT equal to PMDG... simple equation Nothing = PMDG. PMDG = PMDG. End of story, to sum this all up, the plane is OK and it flies like it should, just because its not PMDG doesn't mean you have to bash it... let people who are reasonable in their thinking (people who realize PMDG isnt the only company out there) enjoy their purchase and have nice civil conversations.
January 24, 201313 yr Thank the lord for Avsim Forums! If it wasn't for this forum, I probably would have bought the thing. -Chris Crawford -ATP/MEL - B737 / B777 / B-727 / EMB-145 / LR-JET
January 24, 201313 yr Well, you can call it bashing, but the fact is that many, I would say most, people are interested in the simulation of the real B777. I am one of those. I don't care for products that looks like a 777 but might as well be the Stark Trek Enterprise when it comes to systems and flight characteristics. Sorry, if that isn't civil to say. Daniel Nilsson
