February 16, 201313 yr LOL, yes... been there and done that... twice. Re-installing FSX is like moving to a new house. It has to be well planned, and should be expected to take a couple days. I reinstalled FSX twice for a REX theme-loading issue alone, only to find that it had been caused by the Sparkling water theme. . . . My least favorite part of reinstallation is confirming that everything has been patched and updated to my previous settings.
February 16, 201313 yr It would be nice if F1 collaborates with Carenado. Use the Eye candy of Carenado and the Avionics of F1. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
February 16, 201313 yr A TBM without a G1000 is ridiculous. No one needs a full function G1000 in a sim plane anyway. That too is ridiculous. That kind of programing is a project bigger then the plane! Remember that Carenado is a 35 to 45 dollar operation. Carenado's 850 will be a G1000 plane, and no it wont have anything close to full function. If they can do the panel as well as the JetProp (one of their very best panels IMHO), then it will be a winner. Now I realize some of you don't have a big box like I have, and I feel your pain. I have zero issues with the SR22 (after I fixed the sound anyway). But this is how it's going to be in the future too. When you can, upgrade your computers. This I completely agree with. It may sound impossible to some, but I've found perfect happiness in the SR-22, both PFD and MFD on, flying out of KSEA with ORBX scenery. on a Core2Duo, WinXPSP3, no fancy tweaks. Is everything at max? Of course not. Can I get the balance of detail and FPS that works for me? Yes. If I wanted more (there's always more, so that's a perpetual chase),...... I'd buy a faster computer. Is the diff worth $2K to me at this point? No. Your mileage may vary.
February 18, 201313 yr Author It would be nice if F1 collaborates with Carenado. Use the Eye candy of Carenado and the Avionics of F1. Now that would be amazing. That would be one killer product. Ryan L.
February 18, 201313 yr Dream Team ; ReailAir functions/detail/FD, Carenado Graphics, Eaglesoft/F1 avionics. I think MilViz is way up there in the "complete" package category. I have a hunch that the 350 will shoot them into the next level.
February 20, 201313 yr Not to be too critical because the Milviz C310R and B55 are two of my favorite planes, they look great and fly great, but when I compare them to the Carenado C337 and C90, the Milviz planes have a much higher framerate hit than the Carenado equivalents. I'm only mentioning that to set the right expectations if someone is expecting a Milviz plane with glass to have a better framerate than Carenado with glass, I would not bet money on that at least from comparing the similar steam gauge planes. Good to be optimistic as long as you don't freak out if reality doesn't pan out that way. Count me in for the Milviz 350 either way if it's as good as the C310R and B55. --John near KPAE
February 21, 201313 yr Good to be optimistic as long as you don't freak out if reality doesn't pan out that way. Great advice, and the way I like to approach life in general. I usually don't give up on a plane until all of my tweak and mods (what little I know) have been exhausted. Then I hope others can chip in.. THEN, if all else fails, the for sale sign goes in the window.
May 11, 201313 yr Any one notice the new 3D view Carenado is doing for the TBM..http://airdailyx.blogspot.com/2013/05/carenado-tbm850-this-is-my-plane.html#more That would be be great updrade to the Cirrus since it uses the same FMS/AP. Lyle Jayma
May 11, 201313 yr Interesting what they're doing with the knobs... https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=465199063556913&set=pb.129839447092878.-2207520000.1368286872.&type=3&theater Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. May 14, 201313 yr Looks like only days before the TBM is out... and the few screen shots show a more in depth G1000. Oh yea... I'm a little giddy! Sense I've been sim'n, I've always wanted a TBM. For the record... I have stood by, and been in, a real one.. and to be honest... The Carenado version looks a little "fatter" then the real one. Whenever I get the chance, I like to take pictures of my sight line from the PIC seat... Sadly, I can't find my picture of the TBM, but I can tell you that I'm 6'-1, and the top of the panel sits just below my bottom lip. That may be some help to those with TrackIR and EZDok. It's a little taller then the Piper Meridian. Well, he's hoping for a bug free release, and it works on everyones box! Admins: Maybe you guys can open the TBM section a little early?
May 15, 201313 yr I'm fine with Carenado not doing a fully functioning G1000 but it would be nice of one could replace the TBM850 'default' G1000 with the Mindstar G1000. The Mindstar version has nearly full functionality, is still a live, fully supported product, and one now has the option to keep the navdata current. As an aside, it works perfectly in the MilViz 310 glass panel version.
