Hi all

For a couple of days now have been trying to install SP1 for FSX i reainstalled FSX and tried to install al the add-ons including PMDG NGX.

But when i try to install the SP1 i get the message ( FLIGHT SIMULATOR X SP1 INSTALLATION DID NOT COMPLETE SUCCESFULLY)

I have never had this problem before and i have googled it and searched every forum but no one seems to have a solution to this problem.

And without it i cannot install my PMDG add-ons and i have been at it for days now trying to find a solution but i cannot find it anywhere.

So is there someine here on the forum that knows and might have a solution for my problem or direct me to a link or whatever that could take me further?

Thanks in advance,

Jeffrey

I would:

Make sure the install is running as administrator.

Re-download SP1 and try again.

Try installing SP2, it may be that it has installed and it's just being awkward.

Other than that, I would think re-installing fsx would be the only other solution (but don't hold me to that, there are some very smart people on this forum ).

Hello Jeffrey,

I had this problem to one time!

The only way to get FSX working again for me was to install acceleration pack fsx!

If I remember correctly

Hope you have it!

Try running the Flight1 registry repair tool before installing SP1, that may help.

Jeffrey,

I don't have the Gold Edition myself but a search indicates it's got Acceleration incorporated in it so does it need SP1 and SP2?

Andy Lawton

FSX Gold includes Acceleration, and Acceleration includes SP2. Install Gold and you're done.

I had this problem a long time ago. After you load FSX, start it up and close it properly, then restart your computer. If memory serves I think FSX finalizes install after running it. Then load the SP's. I hope this helps ya.

Jeffrey,

I have never experienced this before, BUT... I always install FSX, then does as DLWbluues suggests, I start FSX up, then exits the program then install the SP's. But then again, I use the Deluxe Edition so I don't have the SP's incorporated.

Good luck!

Kind regards

Since you said you uninstalled fsx and doing a re install of fsx since this is likely to registy files issues due to the unistallation of your fsx, . I suggest you use ccleaner its a free download and run the program it will remove any left over registy files. Than try again dont know if your got fsx acceleration included in your fsx addition but if you have you dont need sp1 or sp2 since its included already.
