March 28, 201313 yr Does anyone own this plane and the Airbus X Extended? How good is this plane compared to the AXE, particularly when it comes to systems realism, Airbus specific implementations, stability and performance? I bought and own both - I abandoned the BBS project at 0.6 because (for me) it just became irrelevent once the AXE reached v1.04 and delivered 95% of what I want from an A320. The BBS up to 0.6 was frustrating and buggy for me (plus it offers no options for key/button assignment, whereas the AXE uses a FSUIPC LUA script and all AP and many other functions become assignable). I won't be downloading BBS 0.7 as the product just fundamentally falls behind AXE IMHO, in terms of sound, visuals, attention to detail, and that hard-to-measure 'quality' factor. The BBS does have nice displays and hand flying characteristics.
March 28, 201313 yr Please kindly be fair and objective. Do you own it? What you like or dislike about it? Please more specific. Dont just "assume" anything. It is kind of cheap you know. Why on earth whenever we have a post about BBS then someone jumps it and tries to hijack it. At least for me I never do the assume thingy to any of Airbux X or any other bus topics out there at all! Actually I think it's very prudent to mention that the previous incarnation of BBS had a very chequered history and treated its customers very poorly. Thus it's quite reasonable to inform potential buyers that there is a rather large caveat emptor attached to this product. Even more so given BBS' debut product - the 737 published by Justflight - received a decidedly lukewarm reception. Will report back in this thread (and hope that no one else comes and makes it "under special surveilance/watch or any thing like that LOL) As long as the discourse remains civil and we don't resort to ad hominems then there's nothing to be concerned about. Nick
March 28, 201313 yr I totally agree that the way PSS handled things, back then when they quit business, was very disappoinitng. And I was also completely annoyed when I bought the Airbus Prologue in v 0.54. To be honest, I uninstalled it after 20 minutes. It was the release of the version 0.61 that caught my attention and made me installing it again. I tell you the truth: Even if BBS would quit business again and would discontinue the development of this addon, I wouldn´t regret buying it. For me, it is already worth every cent in its current state. The most complete simulation of an Airbus so far. And with the A330 to come, I am really looking forward to the further development and improvements. I am quite hopeful the BBS won´t disappoint us.
March 28, 201313 yr Talking about customer service. I just got real example of how BBS can be very responsive to customer's request. To be honest during development time, especially when they worked their a**es off for the release, response can be a little bit slow, but for sure they dont use the silence tactics. And my observation is that they sometimes can be more responsive through facebook, so you guys may post something there as well as the support forum... Here is what I posted to their facebook page and couple minutes later they responded with answers. http://www.facebook.com/BlackBoxSimulation/posts/441914115893992?notif_t=like You can find what my first feeling of the bus (which is GREAT) and some of the issues that I encountered (and BBS well noted these issues with very responsible attitude). What the biggest greatest impression of this release for me, apart from the ECAM pages and the underlying system implementation, their Bus's managed descend is GREATLY improved. And as Mike said, after every updates, they make me more confident that they can really achieve what they promised . Cheers. And again, I have nothing to do with BBS' business, just a normal happy customer .
March 28, 201313 yr To BBS team: If you are following this topic, i would like to know your response on my previous post. Unfortunately I don't use facebook (and not planning to), so I hope to hear from you here if possible. Again well done for your efforts with the 320, and i am eagerly waiting for the 330. Steve
March 29, 201313 yr I'm waiting for the A-330 and A-340. FSL: Does anyone knows if they still exists? I haven heard from them in a loooong time. Yes, they very likely exists but not saying anything in such a long is NOT good!
March 29, 201313 yr Yesterday, BBS released an update that fixed some drag issues and added the light splash effect on the ground. Today, they're releasing an update that fixes some APU problems on startup. I know a few other companies who would've said 'screw it, we'll put these in the next update 5 months from now', but BBS did it immediately after release. It's great. They're one of the most active developers in FS right now. I'm in no way affiliated with BBS, I'm just really happy in how they do customer service. It's refreshing to see an aircraft developer who is proactive with customer requests and complaints and is easy to talk to.
March 29, 201313 yr Commercial Member Blackbox are good. Definitely the best Airbus on the market. I am looking forward to their A330 very much Alex Ridge Join Fswakevortex here! YOUTUBE and FACEBOOK

Yes, they very likely exists but not saying anything in such a long is NOT good! That is because they have their own active Forums where those interested in their projects can follow them. I wish Black Box would do the same, I hate Facebook.

March 29, 201313 yr how do you transfer fuel and paps in the BBS? the standard fsx fuel load system? greetings, Guy Vankeer
March 29, 201313 yr how do you transfer fuel and paps in the BBS? the standard fsx fuel load system? greetings, Guy Vankeer Yes unfortunately, but I hope there will be some sort of load manager later.
March 29, 201313 yr Moderator I'm really confused about v.7., trust me, I really want to like this bus, but it has some annoying things BBS has never mentioned it would address. For me the biggest show stopper are the toe brakes that only work if using FSX axis assignments. I own pretty much all commercial airliners from all kinds of developers, all but BBS allow for FSUIPC axis assignments. I also still get the "spoilers armed" message, and I didn't even touch them. The spoilers also don't work for me via FSUIPC. I also seem to only get the route display to show 80 nm of my flight plan, it just stops regardless of zoom level. I think they've done great improvements to the outside visual model and the FBW just "feels" right. Right now the AXE is my bus of choice, but I do hope that Graham will iron those issues out, hopefully before their 330 release. Like I said, I really want to like this bus. March 29, 201313 yr I do not own the BBS but the AXE. As long as BBS has not simulated systems I want to have simulated (IRS for example) I won't buy it because you won't know if they plan to implement this. For now my opinion is you buy a in progress product for full price, be a beta tester and after the release they will release a professional version with some more features and I have to buy it a second time. As a former pss customer it is a no go for me. So I'll wait for release of all versions of BBS and compare. But that's my personal choice. But my opinion can also be the worse experiencing of captain sim's 777 (thanks to god paypal gave refund). Also I'm waiting for fsl a320 which should top all other airbuses (at least what I am reading about in their forums). I'll not hijacking BBS, but I had bad experiences with pss and if you are unhappy with a person/company you won't fail a second time. ;-) Kind regards, Stefan Sondermann
