April 5, 201313 yr Since I've made the decision to return to this hobby, well not just yet (the new system won't be in for a few weeks), I'm just curious to know what are some add-ons that are in the works that you will be jumping to purchase. Scenery, aircraft, whatever it may be. What's on your "gotta-have-it" list of things that are coming? I'm just trying to build that list as well as what to buy that is already out there. Comments, gents? Chase Barnett
April 5, 201313 yr Commercial Member Aircraft:Majestic Software Dash 8-Q400 , it will definitely be one of the most realistic addon aircraft ever created for any flight simulator, pretty much all the system simulated, failures simulated & also custom flight dynamics that are calculated outside FSX, something completely unique.PMDG 777, just like their previous products it will surely be top notch.</p> FSLabs A320, it will likely be the best Airbus simulation ever, like the 737NGX of Airbus.Milviz 737-200, I think it will definitely be the best 737 original out there when it comes out.BlackBox Simulations A330, their A320 seems very good already so I think we can expect high quality from this one too. Been waiting for proper longhaul Airbus so long..I think there's also Antonov 2 in development for Aerosoft, Razbam is working on a metroliner which will likely be very good too.For now these are what I remember from the upcoming aircraft...Scenery:Haven't paid as much attention, but at least Flytampa is working on YSSY for FSX which knowing their quality surely will be worth buyingAlso for high altitude airliner flying there are more FSAltitude photosceneries coming from FranceVFR, personally I find them just awesome and can't wait to get more of them.Actually it seems they have officially released a new scenery FSAltitude Northern Africa by now:http://www.flightstore.co.uk/flight-simulation-c499/scenery-add-ons-c543/usa-canada-scenery-c551/fs-altitude-northern-africa-for-fsx-p3775">http://www.flightstore.co.uk/flight-simulation-c499/scenery-add-ons-c543/usa-canada-scenery-c551/fs-altitude-northern-africa-for-fsx-p3775And older FSAltitude products (USA & Europe & Australia) can be bought from their website: http://www.fsaltitude.com(apparently they are working on new website which would include also new products and download versions too)I highly recommend FSaltitude to anybody who does airliner flying, thanks to very friendly developer I've owned it for some time already and I just love it. Also FranceVFR support is top notch. And of course more Megascenery 2.0 state photosceneries are going to get released within the year, eventually covering whole mainland United States I believe, not entirely sure if also Alaska will be covered though?
April 5, 201313 yr Commercial Member Aerosoft doing a 12 and a 2 then? Oh I meant Antonov 2, this is the second time I mix those two today D:
April 5, 201313 yr Commercial Member Might not be "Big", but there are upcoming renditions of the C172 from both RealAir and A2A, either one should be fantastic. Jim Stewart Milviz Person.

I only do airline flying so FS Altitude looks interesting. I remember looking at it before but for some reason I then forgot about it but now with this recommendation I'm tempted to try it out. One thing though, I have FS Genesis mesh, GEX and UTX installed - would any of those interfere with FS Altitude?
April 6, 201313 yr A high quality, full feature, classic 747. Not sure who will be first to market with one.
April 6, 201313 yr PFPX should release this year according to their website. Also waiting on FTX Global by OrbX. AJ Pongress
April 6, 201313 yr I only do airline flying so FS Altitude looks interesting. It's a great concept but their image resolution looks rather low, yes? Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
April 6, 201313 yr Yet another question about FS Altitude, how does it work with different seasons, will you see green ground also when flying during the winter or does it include different photo images for different seasons?
April 6, 201313 yr I'm looking forward to when ORBX releases their interpretation of the Northern California region. If it's anywhere near as spectacular as what they've done for the Pacific Northwest, it'll be a must-have. Plus, anything A2A Simulations comes up with next; for me, their planned Cherokee is my next GA aircraft target. REX continues to evolve, and their next release sounds like it may have some good improvements to their weather engine; the rest of the current system is spectacular, particularly if you like to change up the overall graphical feel of not just the skies, but runways, taxiways, water animations, overall lighting; 14GB of super-high-quality textures, and an excellent rendering system that seamlessly swaps in your choices, or randomizes the combinations for an endless variety of environments to fly in. Mix the REX and ORBX texture stuff with the superb physics and FDE modeling and sound modeling of A2A's planes (any of them), and it's hard to imagine how much better it could get! Carenado's fleet isn't quite up to A2A in areas of advancing feel and simulation, but they are truly gorgeous in HD, and for me at least, their systems simulations are sufficient, on a current high-quality PC. I still wait to hear about a great, fun to fly helicopter, the Dodosim is the agreed upon leader, but sounds a little too challenging to be fun, at least based on what I've read, for me.
April 6, 201313 yr I still wait to hear about a great, fun to fly helicopter, the Dodosim is the agreed upon leader, but sounds a little too challenging to be fun, at least based on what I've read, for me. The nice thing about the Dodo is that the realism is adjustable, so you can start out at pretty much FSX default level, then work up as you get more comfortable. Back on topic - Milviz has a Bell 407 in the works that'll be up to date graphically (looks great in WIP screenshots) and will have flight dynamics based on Fred Naar's Total Helicopter Realism program. I'm wondering if it'll be a challenger for the Dodo. Just entering alpha now but I'll be in line for it when it comes out. Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery
April 6, 201313 yr Yet another question about FS Altitude, how does it work with different seasons, will you see green ground also when flying during the winter or does it include different photo images for different seasons? No, only one picture, no seasonal or night textures. Europe is already 25 GB without these, imagine how big one region would grow with seasonal and / or night textures. I am looking at FS Altitude for so long, and I was about to pull the trigger so many times already, but somehow, something held me off from doing so. It might be the disk space it needs. Since I am with SSD only in my new system, and 180 GB left for all the great things to come I am quite unsure what to do...What attracts me, is the fact that you see what you would see when you look out of the window of the real thing, flying at FL 360...
April 6, 201313 yr In regards of aircaft it's pretty much the same as FSCamp has said about the short/medium range birds(MilViz 732, Majestic Dash, maybe the FSL A320), and also the Aerosoft Twin Otter v.2, the Realair and A2A C172 and the SibWings AN-2(the one in the works for Aerosoft doesn't look nearly as good as the Sibwings one IMHO). For scenery I'm mainly waiting for some ORBX releases (and Austria Professional v.2 as well as Salzburg, if dreaming is allowed ). Florian
