April 21, 201313 yr Is it just me or is there something not quite right with the viewpoint? Bought it, downloaded it and sitting in the VC it looks like the nose of the airplane is pointed to the runway. I also have the AXE and that seems very right but this A330 seems off. Can't quite put my finger on it -- but the VC looks like it is all out of proportion. Anyone else feel this way? (BTW--I also have the "other" one as well as the Thomas Ruth Freeware and those seem proportionally correct). Also of note--I am a Boeing "Bomber" and not a Airbus "purist" so as long as it flies well I like them. (Like the AXE--). Jim Atkins
April 21, 201313 yr Commercial Member The A330 uses the same nose wheel as the A300 hense why it sits like that, the freighter version has a redesigned undercarriage so sits more level for cargo loading. Rob Prest
April 21, 201313 yr So it's accurate to have a nose down aspect on the ground? ok--Thanks--again not familiar with the Airbii (but they are growing on me). Jim Atkins
April 21, 201313 yr For a plane that is on V0.61 it fly's and perform outstanding!!! I have flown a long haul flight and it perform as it should!!! The flight was on VATSIM with ATC!!!!! Yup! Really nice; with this type of modern and outstanding simulations who needs a prop or a little Cessna? :Applause:

April 22, 201313 yr JOYSTICK THROTTLE CALIBRATION When you first load the airbus you will need to calibrate your joystick throttle to allow proper use of the thrust lever detents. 1. Open the MCDU from the menu, and press the MCDU MENU button 2. Press the Input Calibration button on LSK R3 (line select key right 3) 3. Select whether you have 1 or 2 throttle levers on your Joystick. LSK R5 4. Set MINIMUM Throttle on your joystick and then note the number that is displayed below either THROTTLE AXIS for single throttle mode or ENG1(2) THROT AXIS for dual throttle mode. 1 or 2 depending on which of the dual throttles you are moving. 5. Note: This does not currently support separate calibration for 1 & 2 throttles if your min max range for both is not identical the differences should be so small it will not cause an issue. 6. Enter this number into the green INPUT MIN Box using the MCDU Keypad 7. Set MAXIMUM Throttle on your joystick and note the number displayed as in step 4 8. Enter this number into the green INPUT MAX Box using the MCDU keypad STEERING TILLER, RUDDER AND TAXIING Just like in the Real World, Your Blackbox A330 is fitted with two separate methods of steering on the ground. You have RUDDER control as normal for Takeoff and Landing + For taxiing, Parking and tight turns you have the STEERING TILLER . To set these up you will need to assign a controller to the TILLER Function. For your convenience we have used the Flightsim “Tailhook Handle” for this operation but you will need to set up your control key/button to use it. 1. From the FSX Menu , open up OPTIONS/SETTINGS/CONTROLS and select the BUTTONS/KEYS Tab. 2. Scroll down the list of available controls until you find the entry “Tail hook ( up/ down) “ 3. Double click in the KEY or BUTTON column and set your preferred key or button, we recommend using “T” as it is unassigned elsewhere in the sim. You can also set a Joystick button of your choice. That’s it.. You can now Toggle between RUDDER control and TILLER STEERING by pressing the assigned key/button. There is an indicator on the FSX Window to show you which is selected But the TILLER is automatically Disengaged on takeoff as your speed increases . https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/20421756/A330-quick%20start%20guide.pdf Regards, Albert Miu CPU: Intel i7 4790k @4.6Ghz GPU: ASUS GTX 1080 8GB OC Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VI Hero RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB 1866mhz PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850W G2 Case: Corsair VENGEANCE C70 Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H110 Monitor: BENQ 1920x1080 Windows: 10 x64 Professional X-Plane 11 Group: Facebook
April 22, 201313 yr You can set the engines off and cold n dark by default through Panel.cfg file in the bbs folder. Should I uninstall it to update? or just the run the update? How do I do that? I have browsed through panel.cfg but found nothing there? Niklas Eriksson
April 22, 201313 yr It's the BlackBox folder inside the main FSX folder, not the aircraft's panel.cfg. This folder contains a lot of settings among hotkeys, etc and that's where you configure engines off, battery off, etc. Hi Nuno I like your comments regarding BBS A330. can you help in Throttle calibration. April 22, 201313 yr As the update comes embedded in the the software is better to uninstall, reboot and then reinstall !
