PMDG.....unparalleled excellence

Featured Replies

to everyone at pmd,

these are my reasons why i do not ask for release dates, well you cant rush perfection right?

im not going to say other product names but when i fancy a change or buy a new product i always think its going to be up to pmdg level, yeah some of them

do have pretty good frames and yes they do have alot of potential but there never reached in there potential but see right there is the reason i come back to pmdg

products everytime, they run fantastically, they only have to release 1 or 2 service packs which i mean its pretty darn good considering how many different type of pc set-ups there are out there

i mean not every 2 pcs are exactly the same!, there products are just finally tuned full to the brim of there potentinal fantastic simulating machines!!

keep up the fantastic work PMDG  your the reason i spend my 2 hours a week that i get spare from family life to flight sim and its your products which i choose to use!

Paul,

Flying The Virtual Skies Since FS95

What PMDG jets do you have?

I have the 744 and MD11.  I like the 744 but she gets poor FPS.  MD11 better FPS but VC could be clearer.

I have high hopes on both points for the 777.

747fsx, md11 fsx, j41 obviously fsx lol and the ngx 600,700,800,900 hopefully a bbj will be out soon

Yeah the 747 can be abit leggy at times but it is an old product now but still beating most new ones out there

Yeah, the 744 is older, but I still get nice performance out of it.   But it also depends on how your FSX is setup and what types of scenery you run.   I don't care too much for scenery so I update my afcad's and basically leave it at that.

Kind regards

Better fps (than 744) and a clear VC with the latest NGX. Not much left to worry about as far as the 777 is concerned ...

I have in order of purchase, JS4100, 747, NGX, and MD-11.

On my rig flying into a hub like FSDT's KJFX I would rate them from best  performance to worst, in terms of FPS and smoothness.

1. NGX and MD-11 - Tied for the top performance wise, but the NGX has a better looking VC in my opinion. Both are very lite on FPS hit.

2. 744 - Runs about 5-7 FPS worse on approach, but still flyable.

3. JS4100 - Even with settings turned down in the performance manager and using 1024 textures, it performs just a tad worse than the 747 and seems to draw a lot more RAM resources then the 3 other products. Still a nice high performance turbo prop for flying to smaller, less congested regional airports.

However I admit than since the NGX release I have not flown the JS4100 at all. In fact, since the NGX release I have only flown the 747 maybe 2 or 3 times and didn't enjoy it as much due to the performance hit. I now use the MD-11 for long haul flights that I would have normally used the 747 for since it performs more like the NGX. Although since I purchased the MD-11 after the NGX I was not as happy with the MD-11 VC graphics after having gotten used the the NGX, but after a few flights I got used to it and it didn't bother me as much.

Between the new 777 and 747v2, I am actually more excited about the 747v2 since it will probably perform more like the NGX and look better to boot, but at the same time have a little interest in the 777 just because its a more commonly flown passenger a/c than the 747 is these days.

I had 737NG (FS9)

Still have 747-400X, MD11, JS4100 and NGX.

Looking forward to adding the 777 to my fleet too. I used the 747-400 a little bit earlier this year to do the Antarctic Flights, but can't wait to get the 747v2. I can just imagine the improvements making it one of the best airliners in the FSX hangar again.

I'm always amazed how great the NGX looks when I get back into it again after using other products. The MD11 and JS4100 great addons too, and may still be the leaders in their aircraft size (777 will probably bump the MD11 from 1st to 2nd place on the "Best widebody longrange aircraft in FSX" list, and the 747v2 will push it even further down the list, but as at 20/4/13, MD11 is still the Widbody aircraft king).

From PMDG on FSX I only have the NGX. I do have the 747 boxed somewhere for FS9 - but when I was using that I was far from trying to be somewhat 'professional', considering I was 13 or so! I didn't even know about the NGX until late Christmas 2011 since I wasn't really in the FlightSim community at that time.

I doubt I'll buy another aircraft add-on after the 777 is released besides the expansions. She's been my favourite since I was two years old, no intentions or needs to fly anything else  ^_^

I'm excited for others awaiting the 74 2.0 series - I know it's going to be fantastic!

I stated this a couple of times before: The 777 has been my favourite since FS9 but there's no 777 for FSX appealing to me - not yet, anyway.

This upcoming PMDG 777 will combine:

- the re-creation of a worthy 777 I've been missing since FS2004

- those brand new features I've been enjoying on the NGX like terrain representation and the VSI (hope so, anyway!)

- a flightdeck that suits my needs (read: laziness ...) in a way similar to, but improved over the 744: automation, synoptic displays

- comprehensive support for non-normal situations improved over the 400+ crew alerting messages of the MD-11 in the form of ECLs (I DO rememember this correctly, "non-normals are in", right?)

(Not sure, I'll be missing the icing simulation of the J41, though, LOL! ... Sorry, couldn't resist ...)

So, finally, I'll get it all - but not right now, not quite yet ...

I can only 2nd all positive opinions on PMDG products and support.

I have recently bought the NGX, and it's really a simulator by itself.

Honestly, in terms of the ESP platform, Boeing = PMDG :-)

If only PMDG could develop something for DCS World, a tanker?
