May 7, 201313 yr PS. Ron - Love the signature 'trick' ..... I almost fell for it  Don't lie. You DID fall fall it. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
May 7, 201313 yr Totally agree! .... Some people like really hate TrackIR, and while not to deny anyone's opinios, I am like .... whaaaaaaaaat ?? PS. Ron - Love the signature 'trick' ..... I almost fell for it  Its not even a question of one or the other for me, TrackIR is better with EZDok. I blocked/removed that annoying flying message "click here to return to the top of the page' about 10 seconds after I first saw it on this forum, stupid bloody idea. Cheers, Andy.
May 7, 201313 yr I've had my TrackIR 4 for couple years now ( THANKS RON   ) I have had the intention to buy a trackclip pro pretty much since i received my TIR, but none of the finnish online stores had any in stock. I decided to put a order in for one back in january, but after 3 months without the store basically not knowing when or what would arrive, i decided to cancel... Now inspired by this thread i wanted to recheck the stores, and found 1 with couple in stock! PUt order in ASAP and should be mailed soon enough. Reason why I haven't used trackir on every flight is the hat clip doesn't really work well for moving around in the cockpit, well atleast when i try to make a profile so that i can move closer to instruments or hard to reach switches. No problem for looking around while I dont try to get closer tho. I do really love my TrackIR and am very thankful for Ron to gift me his old TrackIR 4 ^_^
May 7, 201313 yr Nice it found a good koti. Its not even a question of one or the other for me, TrackIR is better with EZDok. I blocked/removed that annoying flying message "click here to return to the top of the page' about 10 seconds after I first saw it on this forum, stupid bloody idea. How did you do that without resorting to the mobile version of AVSIM? The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
May 7, 201313 yr My Track Clip Pro just snapped While I was falling off my chair, while clicking furiously on Ron's signature... You can expect a letter from my Solicitor Mr Attwood!
May 7, 201313 yr @@Ron Attwood FireFox with the add-ons Adblock+ and Element Hiding Helper. It lets you block individual bits of code in a web page, like that irritating floating box. You have to be careful with it though as you can stop the whole page loading if you are not careful, everything is undo-able though.http://adblockplus.org/en/elemhidehelper Cheers, Andy.
May 7, 201313 yr My TrackIR 4 is the best part of a decade old now and it has the snot beat out of it but it still works perfectly. Its been stood on and the case broke and the Tripod is gone a long time. It is tapped in place now. I never liked the Track Clip Pro and I sold it on fleabay years age. I could never see an on screen difference between the TCP and the basic Clip that goes on a baseball cap. The only difference for me was that the basic clip was a hell of a lot more comfortable! I would not recommend the TCP. Sometimes in art gallery's I find myself looking at a beautiful painting and I move my head to see something off the canvas. My wife say's "Is there something wrong with your neck?" I admit nothing she already thinks in am an idiot! I will upgrade to TrackIR5 when I build my Haswell at the end of the year.
May 7, 201313 yr I bought my TrackIR5 when it came out, and have not had an issue yet. About a year later, I bought the TrackClip Pro and have not looked back once. Possibly one of the smallest, most fragile things I have on my desk, but has outlasted 2 computers, 3 monitors, and 3 children. Very good quality, even if you feel like it might fall apart in your hand. William Sequeira
May 7, 201313 yr I've had my TrackIR 5 for about 3 years now. It was one of the recall serial numbers so I did have to send it in to Natural Point for repair (the camera's display would show a lot of random IR "blobs.") Other than that I did break a TrackClip Pro once but fixed it with some RTV and it has held up ever since. I did buy another one as a spare though. I wish they (NP) would come up with a battery powered TCP. I did "convert" mine to wireless but it really seems like a no brainer for them to engineer this and make some relatively easy money!
May 7, 201313 yr My TrackIR5 has lasted me around 2 years now the headpiece has snapped so I have to use the wire thing. Poor workmanship. To be honest I don't use it often enough with FSX.
May 7, 201313 yr Hi all, My TrackIR5 has been in use since Jan 2011 and still working great. I agree the Track Clip Pro is very fragile, and in fact the pivot for the arm with the LED's in fell to pieces once but I made a new pivot and it's been great. I leave everything plugged in to the PC all the time and so put a large hook in the shelf over the PC to hang the headset which the Pro clip is mounted to when TrackIR isn't in use, trying to protect it as much as possible, you watch I'll go and break it this afternoon now! Anyway if it did give up the ghost I'd just have to buy another one, as I can't imagine flying without it and not being able to look round properly now. Well Happy flying, Happy Flying, Dave Phillips.
May 7, 201313 yr Ya I heard about the wireless conversion but never did it. My headset is wired so I still have to be connected with those. May 7, 201313 yr Author I bought my TIR 3 Pro shortly before TIR 4 was released, I still have it and it still works! Wow, you must have had this for a long time. I have no idea what made my TIR4 quit working. It was working fine when I started preparing for a flight with the Q400, then just started checking out for no reason. Anyway if it did give up the ghost I'd just have to buy another one, as I can't imagine flying without it and not being able to look round properly now. This is the same with me, that's why I'm ordering a spare. TIR and TCP have become so essential to the flight sim. Right now I'm lost without it. Ya I heard about the wireless conversion but never did it. My headset is wired so I still have to be connected with those. How hard was it to do? I heard about that wireless conversion also, but forgot where I read about it. Probably could do a search on Avsim for it. It would be perfect if Natural Point would come out with a Bluetooth version. Robert Yunque
May 7, 201313 yr My TIR5 has been going strong for a couple years now. I had the TrackClip Pro but like many others, it broke after a few months. I don't mind the regular thing that clips onto the hat though.
